Help Haiti!

I've stumbled across the help_haiti community & thought that I'd link it here. The general idea is that people bid on various items offered by people in (& outside of) fandoms. You bid on an item that interests you and, if you win the auction, you donate that money to one of the listed charities that are helping with relief effort in Haiti (i.e. Oxfam, Red Cross, etc.).
For my artistic friends, they will be accepting new donations to the community until Jan. 20.
I just find it charming when something like fandom manages to unite people for worthwhile causes and so I thought that I'd share.
ps, if you like this idea, feel free to spread the news! If there's one thing lj is good at, it's going viral.
