A Stranger in the House by
Shari Lapena My rating:
3 of 5 stars Maybe it wasn't the greatest idea to read two books of Shari Lapena's back to back. I did not like this one as much as The Couple Next door. Sure it was good but it also felt very far fetched. Apparently I like botched kidnappings better then battered women taking justice into their own hands and murdering their abusers- but then I got confused did she make that all up? And I was never convinced who actually shot him dead.
Brigid was one of the freakiest characters I've ever read, and yeah I totally would have avoided her at all costs if I were Tom but if he felt like he was protecting Karen meh I dunno. The letting herself into the Krupp's house and touching everything though. NO girl NO. Sane people don't do that.
Again I want to emphasize that this book was not awful by any means, it is just that I read another book by the same author right before it and I enjoyed that one a lot more hence the lacking of stars in this.
