Just kidding...it's not really that urgent. I just need to take a moment to say, NEVER never watch the movie, "Shallow Hal". It stars Jack Black and Gwynneth Paltrow in a fat suit. Oh man...it was just SO bad. We had recently watched "The Phantom" wich is one of those fabulous films that's so bad in a way that it's SO good. I'd watched it with my cousin Willow and uncle Neil when they were in town for my grad party and now I'm a Phantom devotee. When we were in Cozumel, MX Neil had spent days looking for just the right ring and finally found it--silver with a big skull (Watch the Phantom and you'll be jealous). "Shallow Hall", on the other hand, is just plain soul-suckiingly bad.
The weather here has stayed disappointingly the same. We had planned to go to Ajloun, a crusader-era Arabian castle, but we would have been so cold and miserable that the trip was called off. Fortunately it's just a day trip so we can probably go when conditions are better. Since all castles are basically the same (at least to lay people such as ourselves) we're planning to visit just one of the many that are in Jordan. We'd tried to stagger our sightseeing so we wouldn't be too rushed at the end, but the weather seems to have conspired against us.
I'm still a bit sick with a cold but fortunately I can take it easy again today. I think we're going out to lunch with Artemis and then visiting an art gallery. Another bonus is that Alex and I have an extensive and growing bootleg DVD collection that can occupy us for hours of rain and cold. We were crushed when Ahmed asked for his kerosene heater back--if we had that we could spend more time playing cards or backgammon or just chatting around the warmth. As it is, recreational activities must be done in such a way that we can remain wrapped in blankets and scarves. I'm definitely building character here.
