Prompt: Charmed, Demeter!Piper, Piper didn't stop when her sisters begged her to.
She can hear the cries of the earth, of all the once-lush places falling into ruin and despair, of the creatures choking on dirty air and polluted water, of the species nearly lost forever, and she opens herself up to the rage and the grief, because it is better to lose herself in someone else's pain than feel her own.
Piper is a sister and a mother, has always thought herself a guardian-who better to guard the entire world? She must protect her son and her little sisters, and how better than to remake the world as it should have been?
She can feel all life crying out for a protector, and she opens herself up to the power, and then she opens her eyes, ready to fix everything that has been broken. Her family will be safe, and so will all children (whatever their species), but it is obvious that the world's problems begin and end with one species alone.
("Oh no, oh fuck no," Chris mutters, while his aunts shout at each other. The Elders are panicking, demons are going to ground, and Wyatt is wailing in Chris' arms. He feels his powers shifting, and he wonders distantly if the future he left even exists anymore.
"We'll be okay," he whispers to his older baby brother, and he hunkers down to wait.)

Prompt: Supernatural, Castiel, loyalty
He was created to be loyal to Father and to the choirs of Heaven, from the smallest cherub to the mightiest arch. Loyalty has never been a choice in Heaven.
The MorningStar chose another path, and loyalty ensured that many followed him; but still more remained loyal to Father and to Heaven. It was a choice, though few realized.
Castiel remained loyal to Father and to Heaven, even as he battled his way to the Righteous Man's soul in the furthest corner of Hell, even as his brothers and his sisters died to ensure his path. Castiel remained loyal to the perfection of Heaven and the Father he had been created to worship, even as he watched Dean Winchester relearn to walk and speak, relearn to drink and eat, relearn the limitations of his newly-resurrected body.
Castiel remained loyal, even as he began to ponder all of Dean Winchester's strengths and weaknesses. Uriel reprimanded him the one time he voiced any of it, so he kept silent after. But he did not stop pondering.
Castiel had made one choice in all his existence: to remain loyal to Father and to Heaven when the MorningStar began questioning.
Castiel makes his second choice as Dean Winchester turns bewildered eyes on him, begging for help without a single sound.
He was created to be loyal; he remains loyal, still, and though his siblings will damn him for it, he isn't sure if Father will.

Prompt: Animorphs, Cassie + Rachel, sharing secrets
They're out in the woods, dressed like fairies and princesses, with flowers in their hair and Rachel carrying the magic wand (an awesome stick Cassie found), following the magical path (deer prints that Cassie is tracking), and Cassie says, "I wanna be an animal doctor one day." It's no secret; it's been her wish since she realized how her parents helped animals.
Rachel's dream varies by the day, but today, crown of flowers on her head, following Cassie like she always has, she stops beside a massive tree, gazing up at how it touches the sky, and instead of saying, "I wanna be a dancer" or "I wanna be a model" or "I wanna be a lawyer and argue until people give in" or "I wanna be an artist" or "I wanna be an astronaut," all things she's said before, Rachel says, "I wanna make a difference."
Cassie glances back at her. "What do you mean?" she asks.
They're seven years old, and still believe in happily ever after, and still think good outnumbers bad.
Rachel says, "I wanna change the world somehow."
Cassie smiles and promises, sincere and sure, "You will.”

Prompt: Star Trek (2009), Kirk/McCoy, food
Leonard notices the first week (and he's sure the kid hacked the rooming lists, to make sure Leonard was his dormmate), but he doesn't mention it. Back when he was a kid like most of their classmates (he's older by a decade, and Jim's older by half), he would've said something, would've tried talking about it, but he's learned that sometimes, silence is better.
He watches, though, waiting to see if he should say something, but months turn into years, and Jim continues to hoard food, secreting it about their quarters. He clearly must know that Leonard knows, but neither of them ever mention it.
Then Nero happens, and then they're on the Enterprise and scooting about space on a ship, and hiding food is harder. They have their own separate quarters now, and entirely too many responsibilities each, but Leonard has been studying Jim Kirk for three years, so he can tell that Jim isn't stressing about the weighty responsibilities, or the decisions he has to make, or the expectations every person in the universe has for him.
The kid is a mess, and has been for longer than Leonard wants to think about, so while Jim's tied up in captain's meetings, he visits the nearest outpost and buys entirely too many boxes of Jim's favorite energy bar (which are utterly disgusting, by the way), and then he stashes them around Jim's quarters.
Jim never thanks him but he's stressing less, so Leonard happily terrorizes his minions about everything they could be doing better (even though they're not doing half bad, and he tells them that, too).

Prompt: any, any, anything that will end can be endured
The first rule, Methos has told hundreds of children over the centuries, is to live. No more and no less. Survive, by whatever means necessary. It will hurt, of course, and it will be difficult, but even if you die, you will always awaken again. Mortals do not have that certainty, but Methos tells every child and every student in his care, we do. We will live.
Pain is fleeting. Even if you spend a decade here or a century there utterly miserable, it will always pass, if you are clever or determined enough.
Live, he commands, no matter the cost.
Everything else is gravy.
