Prompt: any. any. A smart guy once said that World War IV would be fought with sticks and stones. He was right.

"Seven thousand years," he says, "and here we are again."

"You can't possibly be that old," one of the boys says, stumbling after him through the desert.

"Of course he is!" one of the girls shoots back, quickly overtaking the boy to walk beside him and shyly holding onto his hand.

Civilization, all of it, tossed back to his heydays, and the mortals and immortals alike scrambling to survive.

It seems like only yesterday... it is, of course. Air conditioning was his favorite thing, better even than the internet, but he survived for ages before they were invented. And he saw the end coming, of course he did, and hid away all the great tomes, centuries of knowledge saved for when humanity rose again.

Alexandria did not burn this time, for he learned from that disaster.

Of course, this time, he will not leave humanity to wail and squabble, oh no. With but a few scant million left, he will become their benevolent master and guide them back to enlightenment.

“Can you tell us about the old days?” the girl asks, sunburnt and thirsty for both water and knowledge.

“Of course I can,” he says, and he enthralls all within hearing in a tale about indoor plumbing and flying metal beasts controlled by man.

Over three hundred years for these poor sods; a mere breath ago for him.

Prompt: White Collar/Chuck, Bryce/Casey and Peter/Neal, Bryce and Neal are twins but Casey hates Neal and Peter hates Bryce -- and they refuse to hide their dislike

John hates Neal Caffrey because he is a lie. Bryce lies, too, of course he does, but not like Neal. Neal lies like breathing, small white lies and great big whoppers, sometimes for the FBI but usually for himself. John's in the business of lying, too, but the thing is, he's come to recognize Bryce's tells and Neal -- Neal doesn’t have any of his own. He lies so well he is a lie and John simply can't stand that.

.

Peter hates Bryce Larkin because he is a killer with Neal's face. He's dangerous in a way Neal's not, in a way Neal never has been -- but could have been. He's broken and it terrifies Peter to see it in eyes identical to Neal's, in hands that are rougher than Neal’s, but just as steady and just as sure.

.

"So, I don't think Peter likes you," Neal says and Bryce just shrugs.

"Casey hates you, too," he chuckles, stealing the hat right off Neal's head.

Prompt: Any, any, pen and paper.

I don't know who you are, or if you care, or if maybe you're me in 50 years and pulling out all the stupid stuff you wrote when you were young.

I don't know why I'm writing this, what the point is, if there even is a point.

But - the world's gone to hell and we all might die tomorrow (or right now), and maybe, if I put this down, maybe someone, someday will find it, will read it, and... I didn't even know we had any paper left, and there's even a stack of pens, so that's telling me something, right?

So I'm going to write this, and it's going in the capsule with Mom's pictures, and in the future, whoever you are, you’ll know that we lived, once, that we were here and we were real.

They came from the north, in the beginning.

Prompt: MCU, Tony + Loki, To the Avengers chagrin, a de-powered Loki is a dangerously creative Loki.

See, the thing about Loki is that he's more than magic. He's also a thousand years of cleverness and trickster and cunning, and honestly, it was easier to beat him when he had the magic.

(Which... something's not right there. He makes a note with Jarvis to come back to that thought later.)

Loki with magic meant there was some riddle to be solved and then everything would go back to normal. (And usually, there weren't all that many causalities and a quick look into their background showed why, exactly, they'd been targeted -- something to do with children, mostly. And Thor didn't want to talk about it.)

But now, with Loki’s magic gone for the next six months (a favor, Thor had said, owed by the high elf-mage of Elfland) - at first, they were expecting to find him somewhere raging impotently, catch him, and throw him in a cage till his magic came back and he escaped. Without his usual glamour to his face, he’d be easy to find.

Nope. Jarvis scoured every camera in the world and Loki didn’t show up even once. Thor assured them that Loki was still on the planet, that he hadn’t jumped ship before the geas fell, but they couldn’t find him for two and a half months, and then when they did…

“Welcome, brother,” he’d smiled, sitting amidst a group of children, a stack of books beside him. “Would you care to join us? Today, it is the Bhagavad Gita.”

Tony turned to look at Steve. “Your call, Cap,” he said, because if they tried dragging him out, it was very likely kids would get hurt.

“What is this game of yours, Loki?” Thor had demanded, hefting his hammer as he stepped forward.

A little girl bounced up and over to him. “We learned about you yesterday!” she said, hands on her hips and glaring up at him. “You leave Mr. Loki alone, you big bully!” She couldn’t have possibly been speaking English, but Thor’s allspeech took care of it for them.

Loki said something in Hindi, presumably to the girl, and with one more glare, the little girl returned to her spot.

Thor looked completely gobsmacked. Tony bit down on a hysterical laugh. Clint’s lips were pressed firmly together and Natasha was intent, and Bruce, wisely, was back on the jet and a single word away.

“Brother,” Loki said, “I am quite busy. Make an appointment, yes?” He nodded to the closest door. “My personal assistant is in the office. It was good to see you.”

While they stood there gaping at him, Loki resumed reading in Hindi. The kids seemed to understand just fine, and Tony had Jarvis translate for him - his allspeech was apparently gone with his magic.

He glanced up, though, with a smirk for Thor, and then his eyes slid to Tony.

Even now, two weeks of arguing with the team later, Tony has no idea what Loki’s game is. A village in the remote Himalayas worshipped him as a god - even though his magic was gone. Are they meant to be the beginnings of his army? A cult? Something else entirely?

As far as Tony can tell, so far, Loki has done nothing wrong while human. He’s got himself set up as a god and he’s teaching children ancient mythology, and he’s also got the team shouting at each other about what he could be doing. No surprise there.

(And, as Tony learns later, they’ve forgotten one very important detail.

The elf-mage who laid the geas had no idea that Loki was adopted, much less wasn’t Asgardian, and that his magic wasn’t Asgardian, either.)

Prompt: any, any, don't open that box

"You could not have known, sister," Persephone says, wrapping her arms around Pandora's shoulders, resting her head against Pandora.

"But I should have," Pandora scoffs. "A jar to never be opened, made so beautiful it stole my breath just to look at? A trap, such an obvious trap."

Persephone sighs, bringing one of her hands up to stroke through Pandora's hair. "What will you do now?"

"I do not know," Pandora says. "What can I do? I am a curse, after all. Perhaps I should just allow myself to wither away."

"Or," Persephone muses, "you could have vengeance?"

Pandora turns her face just enough to meet Persephone's gaze. "Is this another trick, sister?" she asks softly.

"My mother once took away the harvest from mortals," Persephone tells her. “But in that jar, you have something even more valuable to the ones who created you and trapped me in the underworld.”

Looking back at the jar, Pandora whispers, “Hope,” and Persephone smiles.
