For some reason, I really like these lines: "John isn't all that heavy; he'd always been smaller than Bobby. He never ate enough, even when Bobby'd been there to remind him. Left over from the street, Bobby thinks. Horde food away for the lean times."

I love how Eliot's decided that his brother-in-law better be good to his sister or there'd a be a grave in a far out pasture. typical him. Emily getting the last line was awesome though. :)
the idea that Eliot's MOTHER used to throw knives is fantastic. she's often characterized as a battered housewife; it's really neat that you gave her another facet. Where can I find my Aunt Lisa?
