This was so sweet and just loving and god, how I love your little Dean. *melts* And Sammy! "Am I the bestest too?" Hehe. :D

I'll confess that half way through I double checked to make sure it was you-- there are a lot wolf's out there. ;) I should have noted the "Dean lives" tag. LOL! God, I love that tag!

Good fic! I really like how you explored some of the aftermath of what happened with the shtriga, the way that John and Dean’s relationship has shifted a bit, with John unable to fully apologize for coming down so hard on Dean but still showing how much he loves Dean when it counts.

Favorite lines:

It wasn’t his fault, but John knew he’d never tell his son that. Because, to his lasting shame and horror, what happened in Fort Douglas would ensure Dean protected Sammy forever.

I can totally see this happening, sad as it is for all involved.

Dean yawned and his jaw cracked. John wondered if mouths were supposed to open that wide.

He settled Sammy in the middle and waited till Dean curled around him
