Union of Donetsk and Lugansk Republics ratified
The Parliament of the Union of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics ratified the constitutional act establishing the Union of People’s Republics at the first meeting.
The document was adopted unanimously and is supported by the earlier votes of parliaments of Lugansk and Donetsk Republics. The text of the Constitution states that the Union is a democratic confederate state that recognizes and protects the rights of citizens of its member states. The Union is open to accession by other countries, according to its constitution.
Union’s parliamentary session has elected its first speaker, the leader of the “South-East” movement Oleg Tsarev.
