The good news, no one died

Apr 25, 2008 20:07

Today at work we had an accident involving one of our company vehicles. It was not the fault of our driver, but rather the semi truck driver not paying attention to the fact traffic had stopped that slammed into him. Unfortunately, by hitting our guy, N., the semi pushed him into the vehicle in front of him, also a semi. N. thankfully saw it coming and tried to get into the next lane of traffic. This maneuver is what saved him. By turning the wheel, it turned the tires enough so that when he was his, the truck bent in a "U" shape and he ended up in a little pocket of the cab that was more or less not mangled. If anyone one had been riding with him, they might have died.

Needless to say, the work truck is totaled.

N. though managed to walk away with his life and body intact. (The doctors at the emergency room confirmed this with X-rays for all those concerned.)

I'd like to thank God or whatever higher power there is for this and thank them from the bottom of my heart. I'd also like to remind everyone to be careful on the roadways and don't get between two semi trucks, ever.
