I love the metaphor of your life being like a book. (Actually, that's a simile, right? whatever...)
I've been thinking about that recently. Been reviewing the chapters of my book since the very beginning in order to figure out why it has come out the way it has so far. I feel as though I am translating a book that is written in a different language. I finally understand it now, and I'm beginning to understand the page my book is open to today. This "translation" has made a whole lot of sense out of a very confusing storyline. It's amazing how "self-reflection" can clarify so many things about our pasts, present lives, and our futures.
HOWEVER, I do not want the previous chapters in my book to limit my creativity when it comes to writing the rest of my story. Even though everyday of my past has affected my "here-and-now" as well as my future, I want to think of everyday as a fresh page. A fresh opportunity to grow and discover.
My book has a lot of unwritten pages in it. I'm excited for them.
