Today we went out for a little hiking walk at Geneva's country side along a river. Well, it's more "a walk" than "a hike", but we're not going to argue over the names. Yesterday, by the way, they promised a rain, and they were definitely closer to the truth than those who are on weather's duty today. However, I can't say that it's the weather who is guilty that... I almost have jumped abroad :)
Looking at the river, I have decided that it is better to go first up the river, and then, after we become tired return back down. Sounds logically, isn't it?
So I went. Well, I saw the car with signs, but I thought that they were regular rangers, who came closer to us just to assure themselves that we were good tigers who had no intention to harm any "pets".
However, now I know for sure by empirical way that the boarders are still locked.
In general, it’s partly my own fault.
When we hiked all three of us, I have established the clear order: I go ahead, then our Baby Tiger comes, and Andrey as the strongest of us (in the case if somebody suddenly jumps out from behind) closes the Cats cortege.
Earlier, Andrey liked a lot (and he still likes) to go ahead of us. Even, to say honestly, "to go" it's not a right word, "to run" in this case fits much better. For us with Tiger Cub to "close" this gap was absolutely hopeless business.
My father also used to play the character of "pack leader" (it's his definition, not mine:) all the time long.
Well, I know that in real wolves life the wolves' chief always goes the last, but maybe you can tell my dad this. I honestly tried, but have never succeed.
However, Andrey did agree about "real wolves arrangement", and as a result I almost got abroad :)
So we had no other choice, but started to go back down the river, against the real cats logic. In addition going down
at this part of the path was like at some Russian fairy tales:
if you go to the left - you will be caught by some angry and hungry bushes on the narrow path, if you go to the right - be ready to meet cars and motobikers on the road.
After the corner the path improves, but tomorrow in any case, they are going to open the border. In addition (or maybe there is some connection between this), I hope who will be on the weather duty is going to improve too:) then everyone can go to Neuchâtel - the place where are the best hiking paths we have discovered this year.
Recently my cellphone keeps my photos too well, i.e. it even doesn't agree to give me them back. Hence I can't show you the photos from our last hike to prove my statement. But I have another argument, and maybe the better one: before all recent and sad events they had the finest international cats exhibition in Neuchâtel. Now, I hope, you have already got it: all Real Decent Cats know how to choose places! :)
