James' Birthday celebration

Apr 21, 2005 01:00

Well today wasn't James' real birthday, but I took him to Playdium because they have specials every Wednesday and Friday from 3 to closing (I think) where you pay around $22 for 4 hours of play time!! It was awesome.. I think we played every game there was to play. My favourites were this rowing game (pic below)

as well as a skiing game, surfing game (fun!), and Time Crisis which we finished. There was also this rollercoaster simulation ride which was cool in theory, but that pee/orgasm sensation can never be replicated.

James loved the batting cages, and I tried them out too. I did hit the balls, but I kept switching from the left to right side and hitting the ball "like a girl".

We played lots of shooting games, and I was addicted to the off-road and other driving games. OH OH and this sim guitar game which was more difficult than playing an actual guitar.. but it was fun, I think we hogged that one for about an hour!

The only thing that kind of sucked was that we couldn't use our card for the Dance Dance Revolution :( and that is one of my favourite games of all timeeeeeeeeeeee.

^ This swervy helmet game was neat for the first.. TWO SECONDS. But I soon grew frustrated and let this 8 year old boy play. He spun around in circles and spilled his pop.

Then we were planning on going to Milestones for dinner because James loves it (I got food poisoning there). My nerdy daddy drew a map for us.. but somehow we got lost and ended up at Applebees which we'd never tried before. They had a special! $10.99 for all you can eat riblets, or chicken, or steak. So James got steak and chicken for me. Why am I writing what I ate? Yeah, so Applebees isn't bad.

The day before I went to Centrepoint to get some decorations for my place to surprise James. I bought a 'Happy Birthday' sign and hung it up, and also bought some pretty balloons and put helium in them. Well, they were on the floor when I got up this morning :( Oh well, I still had James' favourite: key lime pie!

It was really rich, and I'm on a diet anyway so I didn't finish my slice. We watched CSI: New York and James went home early because he has an interview tomorrow at 9:30am! I hope it goes well.

I'd like to go back to Playdium during the summer months when the Go Karts and mini golf are open! FUN DAY IT 'TWAS! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
