SCHOOL AND COURSES

School is going well. I know more about biopsych and the visual system than about half of my class (which consists of junior and senior psych majors....i = only fishy). I am the Research Assistant to Prof Barbara Woike in the area of personality and cognition. It is fascinating. It is like having an extra psychology class for free! ummmmmm Bio is in no way comparable to Killough's class. OMG i miss her class soooo much. I have Bio 2000 level at 9am MWF and a 9am lab on Tues. French is amazing. Marie-Helen is from TOGO! she is sooo sweet, a HUGE change from Dutarte. We're doing a lot of grammer, but she doesn't make you feel like an idiot if you don't get it the first time. Which is very very nice. ok english gets it's own paragraph.

OMG!!! English (Legacy of the Mediteranian) Is FREAKING AWESOME!! Stefan (he asked us to call him by his first name) is an amazing and energetic teacher. He really knows his stuff and the books. He is one of those teachers you can tell LOVE their subject and their love for it is communicable. There are only 17 girls in that class an we have class discussions every class period. Those discussions are NOTHING like we had in HS. They are just amazing....people actually have things to say that are intelligent and relevant. It is basically a huge party where 18 ppl happened to get together to talk about this stuff. We just finished the Odyssey, which i adore. The only slightly down part is that every other Wednesday we have to attend a lecture outside of class for an hour to an hour and half. This week it was a lot of fun and interesting, but the one before that didn't engage my interest.

My last "academic" class is Jazz 1. It is ok so far...no actual dancing as such. lots of rhythmic stretching and a few cross floor routines (kicks, jazz walks, pony leaps...) yea, i'm hoping we are going to start actual dancing soon. but Katitti is awesome. She's really nice, and apparently world famous.

So that is my current course load. Since I only have to take 1 semester of Bio (thanks AP) i think i'm going to add another psych class at semester, or maybe a math class. It's amazing, but I miss math. Maybe history (history of psych kill 2 birds w/ one stone?)

SOCIAL LIFE

First of all, it exists. Second of all, it exists in a good amount. CUSwing has helped a lot in that respect (that's Columbia's swing club). I love dancing and it turns out I'm advanced enough that when we have too many girls in the beginner class i lead, and then i get to be the girl again in the intermediate class. I really love it. I get a high off of it. It makes me so happy.

I've met a ton of awesome girls. Nikki lives across the hall and I think is going to develop into a bestfriend-type thingy. She's in my Bio class. Caroline lives in Brooks hall and is amazingly awesome. We're going to watch the UT v OU game on the 7th. it will be awesome. Guess who she is routing for....yea. OU. WTF? i know, i know. we'll fix that small problem. :-P Stephanie T (i call her steph...old habits and what not) is really sweet. she's always happy and positive and brings sunshine into my day. She plays in CUMB (pronounced cum) Columbia University Marching Band. Silliness abounds. Emily (who is also in my english class) is really sweet. As in amazingly sweet and quiet. Think Denise Posluzney.

As to males....I've met them at Swing club and through Nikki. The ones I can remember are Peter, he's kind of a more easily pissed off version of shawn + alcohol. McConnell who is kind of like The Ben...minus much computer knowledge. and Andrew (Nikki's Boy) who got accepted into MIT + grants and DIDN'T go!!! what the hell is going on here? oh yea, he's an indecisive pussy. That is not being mean, that is an accurate description that everyone in the adventuring group uses.

OTHER

I miss TX. It is weird. I miss it so much, particularly the sunlight and mes amis. I miss Tex-Mex, I miss Kerby Queso, I miss TLP stuff. But luckily I keep busy enough to not have to pay attention to all that stuff.

Lindsey is an amazing roommate. Soo respectful about everything. If I want to go to sleep and she's still studying she either uses only her desk lamp or she leaves the room to study someplace else. If somebody calls and I'm trying to study she leaves the room.

BREAKING NEWS

Columbia frat boys came over as part of innitation and sang to us all. Then the we went down and kissed them all. so I kissed 10 really fucking hot guys. that made me happy. oh yea. ^_^
