Things are still crazy at school, but Bruce and I have made things even more insane because we bought a house. We've known for quite sometime that we both want to stay down here because for the most part we hate Northern Virginia. The best part about that area is that our families are there and that's only a positive some of the time. I mean we miss diversity down here, but I have a feeling that it will make it's way here. We've been looking for a house for about 5 months off and on because we are tired of paying the ever increasing rent for our tiny little box. For the two years we lived at Squire Hill they increased the rent from $525-$585 and everything else has gotten more expensive too. Take for example NTC our cable provider who has hiked their rates every year since we've been here but we can't do anything about it because Squire Hill has a contract with their service.

Our mortage will be more expensive than our rent, but depending on what interest rate we get locked into it may only be about 50-100 dollars more a month and we will actually own it. It has a big back yard for our dogs, a twoish car garage for Bruce, a master bedroom and a guest room, one bathroom, a deck, and a cute little shed/play house in the back. It's obviously not huge, but it's bigger than what we've been living in and the dogs will be able to run around in the backyard. And we will no longer be at the whim of the people that live on top of us, because no one lives on top of us. I would like to never lose sleep from someone else's loud party music again.

It will be a little sad to no longer live right next to a bus stop, but it's only 10-20 minutes away depending on traffic so I could still park and use the bus, it will just take a little more effort than before. My mom and dad and Bruce's mom and grandma are supposed to be coming down to look at it, and I'll be taking pictures I can post. We talked to them about getting a house before and none of them wanted to help, so we did it alone. Everyone except my mom seems to understand that this is our decision to make, and that we'll make it work.

Alrighty I have to finish cleaning up the apartment.
