Top Five Lucas/Peyton Scenes (asked by

o5. With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept (I'm not leaving you)
"Don't leave me please."
"Listen to me, okay? I'm not leaving you, Peyton. I won't."
-I love this scene for the emotional impact and tone of it. The fear, the pain, the desperation were executed beautifully in this scene. The dialogue and delivery were spot on. I'm having a hard time describing why this particular scene made my list. I think it's just that...unconditional love I feel here, his need to protect and reassure her coupled with her need for him to stay by her. It's so much of what define these two for me within the heavily layered meanings behind the words.
o4. The Same Deep Water As You (That someone is out there)
"...and if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone
or something will find you to make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes.
Someone to help us hear the music in the world. To remind us that it won't always be this way.
That someone is out there and that someone will find you."
-The voiceover paired with the song and that amazing moment where they just stare at each other and fall into a hug full of pain, longing, comfort sends shivers up and down my spin. It's significant to me because in a time where they're both broken hearted they can find that "something" in each other that heals the wounds. Words aren't needed, they just come together as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
o3. Like An Arsonist (Always going to be there)
"But I'm glad you're here, you know? I know we kinda lost each other for a while but...
hopefully that's over, right? Especially considering our history."
"It's always going to be there, isn't it? You and me."
-This was the moment where they truly reconnected, both letting each other in to the state of their hearts. Admitting that they've had feelings for someone else, at least on the surface, but in a sense recognizing there is that remaining spark still between them. How much has changed while they were apart and what hasn't.
o2. Suddenly Everything Has Changed (I feel it in my heart)
"...I don't want to hide anymore."
"Even if we could be together what makes you think it would work?"
"Because I feel it in my heart, don't you?"
"Yes."
-This is what redeemed the Lucas/Peyton relationship for me after seeing the whole "cheating" thing go down. Normally it isn't something I condone, but in the scenes prior to it I see this vulnerability and longing between them. The feelings that spurred it on were real and true, forbidden and maybe even wrong, but still there. These were the days when the clarity of Lucas' heart and mind were obvious to him and the audience. He knew he was only hiding with Brooke out of fear and he believes so much in them despite the messy circumstances. I think I could center everything that happened later around this moment of truth and beauty.
o1. I Shall Believe (I'll wait forever)
"I just came by to tell you that I'm probably not going to be around very much...
But I'm with you Lucas, you know that. And I'll wait forever if I have to."
-For those who don't know, this is my favorite episode on the show so this moment had to top the list. This moment, for me, shows how much Peyton's heart has opened. She went from the girl who was defensive and biting, to the girl who let herself be vulnerable with him. Guilt ate at her, but she couldn't stop her feelings and in a sense I think there's a tone of finality to it. Like she knew that she couldn't be around, but she's always with him and she'll wait for the right time as long as it takes. To see her heart warm and open as much as it was in this scene brings tears to my eyes, even now, long after the defensive, bitchy, hardcore girl disappeared. It shows how much he changed her life just by caring and believing in her, it gave her the courage to believe in herself. Maybe she wasn't honest with her best friend at this point, but in terms of letting her heart live, love, and believe it was significant for me as a Peyton fan as well as a Lucas/Peyton fan.
Top Five Lucas/Peyton Kisses (asked by
breakingsilence)
o5. Deleted Kiss
-Hand fetish! I love how she puts her hand over his as they kiss. It's just so pretty. I know this kiss was deleted, but in some ways I prefer it to the actual just because of the hand play. Sigh.
o4. Everything In Its Right Place
-I know most people thought this kiss was cheesy, but I happen to love it. I think this was the first time we really saw Lucas and Peyton "let go and give their heart what it deserves" and it was a beautiful thing to watch. It was the first truly blissful moment they shared together and because of that it's special to me. I also loved the lead up to it and the little twirl was adorable to me, Lucas is a romantic character so I expected that out of him. Season four didn't have some of my favorite moments, but I did like that they were allowed to be happy together for a season. They had done enough brooding over the seasons and they weren't anymore "cheesy" then any other couple on the show.
o3. Resolve
-I have a good reason and a shallow reason for loving this kiss. Shallow reason being I love the way her hair looks in this scene, the way the curls straggle down her back and it was a good angle for the Chad hair of s4. Good reason being the way she smiles as the kiss breaks, their foreheads resting together during that slow pull away. Just so pretty. There was a breathless feeling to the kiss that reminded me of the ones they shared in s1.
o2. Hanging By A Moment
-I loved how their eyes were so shiny in this scene as they looked at each other. Then the lean in to the kiss was so slow but so sensual. Then his hand moving onto her neck as they kissed. I just really loved the feel to this kiss, I can't really describe it with words, just something I feel.
o1. Suddenly Everything Has Changed
-There's just so much love and tenderness in this scene. It's in the way she holds his face as they kiss and is almost smiling into it. The pause of breathlessness after their lips part and noses touch. It's a kiss driven by something deeper then lust or want, a need born of a love that is wrong, but still present.
