clarification
on that passage of scripture last night. the preceding verse (it's in John 2, i found it) says (KJV) "...many believed inhis name when they saw the miracles which he did." the commentary in my new study Bible says this: most commentators agree that this verse speaks of those who believed in Christ, yet because Christ knew their true intentions, he saw the hypocrisy and shallowness of their faith"
basically, like the parable of the sower - these people were seeds that fell on the "i-only-believed-because-i-saw-a-miracle" ground, and Jesus (being Jesus) knew that.

it's the apex of Jesus' teaching - with Nicodemus. So good.
