could it be it was me that kissed you to that tree?
i'm not the grateful bastard son
i am the rich and spoiled one.
twothirtyeight was my introduction to emo/post-grunge/whatever you want to call it. i still remember the first time i heard their one song that got a fair amount of airplay on "Christian Radio" -- and i thought to myself "if they can make those two guitars do melody-countermelody... what a whole wide world of opportunity that opens up - that was in 2001 i think.
since then, i've obviously discovered that there were others who did it first, and there have since been others who have done it better. but i put that CD in today (the one with those lyrics up there) and i was just taken back to a simpler time where my sense of wonder was initiated by two guitars playing the same rhythm, and two different lead guitar lines. and my head exploded.
go find something by twothirtyeight and pretend it's 2001 all over again.
