I AM OFFICIALLY NEVER GETTING PROMOTED
So I had this little conversation while working at the drive through window taking peoples orders and cashing them out. Which is normally a two man job, but I was doing it by myself because we were short handed when my boss' boss decided to come through with HER boss, just to irritate us all. Now, keep in mind that I handled their order PERFECTLY and did absolutely nothing wrong.
Susan (boss' boss): Ok, better than last time, but it took you six seconds to greet us when we got to the window.
Me: First off, I'm on the window by myself, trying to not only greet on time, but deal with whoever's at my window at the same time, and second, I greeted you before the second beep in my ear which is within my 5 second time limit.
Susan: My stopwatch said 6.5 seconds. Don't argue with me, just make sure you do it right from now on, are we clear?
Me: Yes.
Susan: Yes, maam.
Me: I'm sorry, Susan, but that's a term of respect.
Susan : >:O
Megan (my boss): O______________________O
Nathan (susan's boss): *chokes on his coffee*
Me: Now, if you'll excuse me, this conversation has caused me to put these customers on hold for over a minute, which you've told me we're NEVER allowed to do. Are we done?
Susan: *opens mouth*
Nathan: *trying desperately not to laugh* Yes, you can go back to work now.
---two hours later, after Susan finally leaves---
Megan: You just won MAJOR brownie points with Nathan.
Me: I know.
Megan: Too bad she'll never let me promote you now...
Me: I know.

I feel strangely accomplished...
