So! Last night I went to Joey

I was a blast. I can't really put into words how fun the show. And hey, I never got to see NSync on stage, but I got to see Joey Fatone. And that's more than enough for me.

Highlights:

~ Nick Lachey and Vanessa what'sherface caused a bit of excitement when they took their seats near the stage. I think it's the closest I've ever been to a non-C list celebrity, and yes, he's a beautiful, man. Very pretty. They looked really cute too. People kept bothering him for autographs and pictures and stuff, and he was really good about it. All I could think was "leave the poor guy the fuck alone, you vultures." Really, people circle like birds. I guess that's what you sign up for with celebrity, but oy. I would hate it.

Onto the show. The costumes are awesome, and the music is really fun. Also, obviously, the dancing is unbelievable.

~They performed some of my favorite dances from the show - Drew and Cheryl's Pasodoble to Thriller, their Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy Freestyle, Joey Lawrence did his awesome Singin' in the Rain...And Joey...oh Joey. He did his freestyle and his Jive with Kym, and he's just too adorable for words. Obviously, there were a zillion other couple/group dances, but the one that really stood out for me was Louis Van Amstel and Julianne Hough doing a Rumba - which I usually hate - and it.was.gorgeous.

~ One of the biggest highlights for me came when, by surprise, Apolo Anton Ohno took the stage. Apolo was not actually part of the tour and was not scheduled to appear, but he was in Vancouver checking out our new Olympic speed skating arena for the 2010 Olympics, and jumped on into the tour for the night. He and Julianne did their freestyle and their Samba to "I Like to Move It, Move It." Awesome. Also, they are soooooooooo freakin' cute together.

~ It was the very last night of the tour, hijinx were ensuing all over the place. And if you guess that Joey Fatone was behind all of them...you'd be right. First, he managed to get himself talking into poor Joey MacIntyre's earphones while Joey M. was trying to sing and then talk to the audience. I don't know what he was saying by Joey M. was laughing his ass off and had to keep telling Joey F to "get outta my HEAD!"

~ The absolute best part of the night came during Cheryl and Drew's "Save a Horse Ride A Cowboy". Halfway through their dance, these two people in one of those old-fashioned horse costumes comes dancing on stage. Cheryl and Drew obviously knew nothing about it, cause when they noticed it, they both stopped for a sec, shocked. They did manage to get through the rest of the dance, though they were in hysterics. The horse, obviously, stole the show. I'm no doing a very good job of describing how funny it was, but at the end Drew runs and tries to ride the horse and knocked them over. Then he says, "100 bucks says Joey Fatone is the horses' ass!" Well, he was wrong, Joey was the horse’s head, but still. You knew who was behind it. 10 zillion points to Joey.

~ Joey MacIntyre sang quite a bit (he's promoting a new album), but was completely taken aback when the band, instead of playing the song he was going to sing, started to play New Kids On the Block's "Please Don't Go Girl." Poor Joey. He laughed, tried his best, but just can't sing as high as he could when he was 16. He's got a pretty good voice though. Considering I haven't really seen him since he was in New Kids, and I wasn't a huge fan of theirs, I was pleasantly surprised.

~ Joey F pretended to be bitter over not winning, and now that Apolo was there to steal his thunder again. (Apolo got HUGE cheers. You'd think he was freakin' Bono or something! Although, Joey was by far the most popular celebrity on the tour.with the audience, I could tell) The other Joeys and Drew brought on this trophy that someone had made for Joey and a Gold medal as well to presented it to him. Now he has a gold medal and a trophy just like Apolo. The trophy had Jesus on it.

Drew: Wow, even Jesus Christ couldn't help you win.
Joey L: J.C. himself! He couldn't even rig it so you won!
Joey F.: Hell, even J.C. Chasez couldn't help me win. (Squeeeee! JC reference.)

~ Joey F and Drew are a great comedic team. They were taking jabs at each other all night, in good fun. My favorites were:

Joey: So...how many more albums did NSync sell more than 98 degrees?
Drew: Well, that's when it was okay to lip-sync, so....

Joey: Goes and kisses Drew on both cheeks. That's from Lance Bass. He says he had a really terrific time the other night and wants to see you again soon.
Drew: Dude! I told him to keep that on the D/L! Get it? D/L! Downlow...Drew Lachey!

Drew: How's that Nutrisystem thing working out for ya, big guy?
Joey: Pretty damn good, they just wrote me a big freakin' cheque.

Drew: After a dance to NSync's "Pop" Wow, that's around the time that Justin Timberlake up and left you guys in the dust, huh?
Joey: Pfft. He may be able to bring SexyBack, but I can bring Cha-Cha Back, baby, and that's way better.

It went on and on. They were awesome.

~ The four celebrities (Three Joeys and a Drew) did this awesome Rat Pack homage, and man, there was some talent singing-wise on the stage. My mum was so impressed. lol

~ The show ended off with everyone dancing to Footloose, and really can you get any better than that? Footloose!

I had so much fun, I would so go to the tour again. If it comes near ya and you're a fan of the show, I saw go, go go! Too much fun.

I finished reading Deathly Hallows the day it came out and I have nobody to chat about it with. Waaaaaaaaaaaah. They friends are slow readers. So! Lj-ers who have finished it, let's discuss!
