So I normally don't post twice in one week, or twice in a month for that matter. But today was a really stinky day. I hate coming on here and just complaining about my life or the stupid stuff I have to do, but it's my place to vent.
I had a paper due in American Lit today...let's just say that IB taught me a whole lot about procrastinating until the last possible minute. I started working on my paper yesterday afternoon, figuring that since it only had to be 5-7 pages that I could get it done by the evening. Well, I definitely didn't account for all the research I hadn't done in both the primary and secondary sources, plus had to look up Scripture to support my argument, so I still wasn't done by midnight last night. I went to bed with 2 and a half pages blank, got up at 5 am, and finished on the dot at 8 this morning. I barely had enough time to throw on some clothes, make my hair look decent, and get some makeup on and make it to class on time.
Well, normally after attacking an obstacle like a paper I feel pretty good...you know, you spend all this time writing something and you actually finish and it seems decent and you turn it in on time...good feelings. Well, I also had a huge Chemistry exam today, so obviously I placed more importance on getting my paper done than worrying about the Chem test. So I didn't study at all last night, so I decided that I would skip my Math class and study for 2 hours and then take my Chem test. Well, I definitely studied for that whole 2 hours, got to my Chem test feeling like I was not going to do well, and discovered that I definitely WOULD NOT do well lol. The test was all gibberish to me. The professor is really nice and all, but he makes absolutely no sense. As most of you know by now, Chemistry is totally skills-based and has very little to do with memorizing concepts or definitions. It's all a bunch of math and conversion factors (or at least that's what my class is). So I'm looking over the test and the majority of it is made up of word problems such as "...blah blah blah...if you have a .24M solution of NaSO4 and you need to make a 4 gallon solution, how many grams of solid NaSO4 do you need...blah blah blah..."
and I'm like, "Hmmm...I really don't know how to figure this out..." Then you go to the next problem and it says something like "I hooked my van up to a propane tank that can hold 500 L. In the summer, the pressure is 795 torr..." and I'm thinking, "Crap, what is torr?" lol. I know that if I had some detailed notes about it or something, I could probably figure this stuff out. But I look in my notes and the only thing that remotely resembles torr is a sentence saying something about mercury and that's it lol. Anywho, to make a long story short, the test was awful and I know I did really, really bad on it.
Ahh...so now that I've vented, I feel a little better. I think I'll go watch some CSI now!
