finally an update
Okay it’s been so long since I actually updated my journal it’s not even funny anymore. To start off with I have not really been to insanely busy just really really lazy though there was a weekend I was really busy with the ms150 which is a bike tour to benefit MS research sorry cant spell the word. It is a 2 day event that is a Saturday and Sunday normally the 16 & 17 of July Which I have to fight every year to have the weekend off for it the boss seems to think its not fair yet she can take a week off and if I want a day off for something or a weekend I have to say why and what’s it for. Anyways getting lost in thought there for a sec surprisingly I still have those. I don’t actually ride in the tour my knees wont let me I want to though in a few years when I can ride with my brother in law what I do is so with one of the sag vehicles which is service and guidance and we drive up and down the course keeping an eye on the riders and making sure no one is in trouble or hurt. It is a 75 mile ride from Springfield oaks in Davisburg to MSU (Michigan State University) one way and then back the same rout the next. There are 8 rest stops including lunch and we drive back and forth between them until we get an all clear that all the riders have gone through that rest area. It’s a lot of fun and you get to meet a lot of interesting people there is one guy who dose it who has cerebral palsy and has only the use of one arm and one leg and he dose these things all the time. It was a lot of fun next year I will take my camera and get pictures to post on the web.
After that it was back to boring old work working 35-40 hours a week the norm trying to keep the house clean a never ending task. Still isn’t clean. I did do one bad thing and that was put my checking account into the negative buy about 500 bucks that was not a fun argument with Fred, over how it happened and now he wants to control or be more involved in the finances than he normally is. Which is a good thing as far as I am concerned cause this way he knows what is going where a good note though the account is back in the positive and we have all of Fred’s debts paid off except for one which is also one of mine cause I did a joint credit card and didn’t realize when I joint with the debt company that it would also go on his credit report should have thought of that but didn’t oh well. Hopefully when he gets his bonus check in November we can pay it off. We are still meeting with my mother in law to try and get everything paid off and down she is helping up keep up a budget and get everything paid so we can finally move out of the apartment and into a house. Right now the apartment works for us seeing as neither of us are really home enough to enjoy it some nights it feels as though just come here to sleep and not really to live cause we have to get up in a few hours and go to work. I can’t even manage to keep the apartment clean right now how am I ever going to keep a house clean??? (Some questions should never be asked or answered)
My parents are building and edition onto there house for my grandfather seeing as he can no longer live alone and the nursing homes are to expensive right now for him. Or at the least the ones mom and dad looked at they also are doing major updates they went and resided the whole house and it looks a lot better they should also see a decrease in the heating and cooling bills seeing as the old siding had nothing to staple or cling to but cardboard so this time they did it right and it looks really nice they also might be doing the garage and making everything the same color and looking like new. Not to mention really adding value to the house and the property there was a second house in front of the house they are living in that was finally torn down and the hole where the basement was filled in so once the dirt settles into place they are going to put down grass seed and level it out. And make it look all nice and green. There is also a well head out there that I think my mom is going to cover up with the wishing well my brother made her a few years ago. They also got a new vehicle the van they were driving is just about dead it needs the engine rebuilt on it they got a 2003 ford explorer and it is really nice. They still have the van but are looking at selling it. I go over there every once in a while to do laundry unless I am upset with them or don’t have the time to make it there. Also lately because the cat had cost me 70 bucks worth of dry cleaning by spraying the dry clean only blankets so yeah she has gotten her but smacked a few times.
The apartment is way to small again it seems like we keep getting all this stuff but have no where to put it or we start cleaning and then something always seems to happen where it never gets finished and partly cause I don’t really care to clean I would rather sit and read all day but this is starting to drive me nuts I have to get this place clean I cant even invite the guys over for a movie night its that bad especially the computer room and Fred wants to put up web cams and have live web feed from the computer room I don’t think so, not until it is way cleaner than what it is. Another factor to is work, and now for the real reason I was starting this really long update.
Ah yes where to start Subway well I guess I should start with we just lost almost our entire crew do to the people going back to college and the young ones starting back into school and all the extras they have to do so we are extremely short staffed and we hire to new people and start getting them trained, they both seem to be doing really well. I will just use there initials so no one really knows who they are my trainee R I interviewed hired and trained her for two days first day she did really good with the sandwich and formulas we have to follow second day she did great on the register, well a week latter she has to work a 12 hour shift and that is really long and I guess she forgot everything I had told her on the first cause she didn’t do anything right, she didn’t up sell didn’t put the meats on in the right order or the correct number didn’t have the veggies right oh and she doesn’t smile either. I thought she was doing fine I didn’t notice last night she was having trouble with the meat formula and corrected her when she made a mistake on it. Well I go in today and there is an envelope with my name on it by the schedule I open it and this is what is says:

It is very clear you didn’t train your new hire R, She has no clue how cut bread, No Clue how much meat goes on a sandwich or in what order (subway stresses the order and amounts way to much if you ask me) Doesn’t know what order the veggies go on. VERY IMPORTANT ALL OF THE ABOUT ARE. Doesn’t great up sell or smile because you think its more Important to stand around and chat to her you need to retrain thanks
It also had a place for me to sign. Which I did just to sate that I had read it and what can I say in my defense nothing cause the manager is a real bitch at times and has a habit of not believing me when I tell her something she will listen to everyone else. But I did show her the correct way the correct order and did tell her to up sell everything and I do not think it is more important to just stand and chat with her, but hey she probably had all the other employees there say to her that’s what I did or agree that I did just stand and chat with her which I might have done when I was explaining things to her but what I don’t get is why after 7 days of her being hired is all of a sudden all this shit getting said why was it not brought up before, the poor girl was so upset that she offered to quit and go find another job if it would make things easier I was not in the best of moods after I read that note and she kinda picked up on it and I now I showed her everything well tonight I reshow her and was quizzing her on everything I had reshow her to make sure she was getting it in her head But how am I supposed to get someone to smile?? It probably didn’t help that the boss was there and yelling at her all day and really reaming her one I guess from what I heard. It was only her seventh day and she was already working a 12 hour shift yeah I know it makes it a lot harder when you have to fix mistakes but on the other times she worked during the days and no one caught this something is not adding up, and since she is my trainee I get to be the one who is bitched at for it cause I didn’t train her right. And there is nothing I can say to the boss tomorrow that will even help so I am not even going to try I think I will try to just not talk and not be social anymore at work and just be a worthless drone that just gets the job done and then goes home. Oh that’s right I don’t get to do that I am the asst mng. So nice to be one too. Yeah I so wish I could find another job other than food or a gas station that will give me 40 + hours a week at 8.77 an hour. Anyways my fingers are going numb and my eyes a little cross eyed.
