Was planning on going to a wedding reception today before a coven get together (it was a lunch thing, so we would have had plenty of time), but fate had other plans for us. Over the last week, my fiance had been having stomach cramps and diarhea. Her cramps got really bad after we got home from eating a late dinner. I tried to call the hospital to see what advice they had, but they are no longer allowed to give medical advice over the phone. Great. So she had a bad cramp and went to the bathroom. It occured to me to ask if there was blood coming out. She must have had the same idea at the same time, because before I could ask if there was blood, she said "I think we should go to the emergency room". There was blood. So we went to the emergency room, and about 11 hours, an IV, and a blood and urine test later, the doctor said that nothing came out as wrong with her blood or urine, so he gave her a prescription for something to take for the cramping, and referred her to go to a GI specialist for a colonoscopy. Since she doesn't have insurance yet, he said that the specialist should be able to work out some kind of payment plan with us. I hope so, because I think it's pretty important that she follow this up.
For those that don't want the medical TMI, the short of it is that I had to take my fiance to the emergency room for some serious abdominal problems. After spending all night there, they didn't find anything in the tests they did, but they referred us to a specialist for more tests.
