Kodak ends Kodachrome production

Jun 22, 2009 18:46

Today I heard on the news that Kodak has ended production of their Kodachrome slide film. Also 5032 motion picture film. The volume got to be so low that it was no longer economical to continue production. Some time ago they stopped Kodachrome 25 the most honest color slide film that I have ever used that gives real colors when photographing tigers. When I needed more speed I used Agfachrome CT-18 another great product I think. Between Agfa, Ilford, Fujifilm, and Kodak I should be able to find a good 35mm substitute when I resume still film photography. Digital is nice, convenient but nothing can capture light quite like film does. So please join me in saying good bye to a dear old friend.
