Cine Gear was Great! but really hot

This year Cine Gear was at Universal Studios back lot. The location was really nice but the bus transportation sucked. Long waits for the buses. Also security here used metal detectors which created another delay. The show was a lot of fun with the most popular locations being the ones that had air conditioners. There are these really neat portable units called "MovinCool" which are on wheels and completely self contained. Just move in, plug in, switch on and stand in the air stream to cool off.  Among the new items at the show this year were Sony's new PMW-EX3 camera with interchangeable lenses. At the moment there is only one unit in the country and it was at Cine Gear this weekend. There was a presentation on the F23 and F35 cameras. If you have the bucks for these really nice cameras you can get some very good results. The video processing power of the onboard electronics goes way beyond anything else. You can choose your color space, 422 or 444, do speed ramps and so on. These cameras are just really really nice. Out of my reach though. It was so hot (104) that I had to leave early. No matter how much liquid I took in it seemed like not enough. I was concerned about over doing it so around 3pm I headed back to the car which was in a parking garage and just sat there for a few minutes cooling off with the AC on full.

I am so tired I will have to continue this post later.
