The roof of Luke's, Friday night

Apr 21, 2017 14:30

So. Prom was happening. Kathy had gone to the dance - which was awesome, she'd missed it last year, so she was basically getting a do-over on her senior prom! Raven had helped her pick the dress she wanted to wear and they'd done the whole girly accessory party and everything, but the moment she'd left the loft that afternoon to go finish getting ready, Raven had felt - empty.

She'd gotten her senior prom. She'd been voted queen at it and everything! So she had no real right to feel jealous at all. And she didn't even want to go. It'd just been a hell of a year. And knowing the prom was happening right now made it all just weigh so much more.

She couldn't sit around the apartment moping. She refused to sit around the apartment moping. She was filled up with a buzzing sort of energy, like she'd suddenly gotten a month's worth of Hardison's spoons dumped on her at one time, and there wasn't enough room left in the apartment for them all. But they were all those tiny little coffee spoons. Or . . . plastic sporks, or - honestly Raven wasn't really sure how far that spoon analogy could be stretched. She had a ton of energy and nowhere to put it.

So she was up here, looking out over the island, and watching for kids in their finery walking by, though she was on the wrong side to see them coming from the school. Just . . . buzzing on the roof.

As you do.

[can be open, if someone's on the roofs tonight.]
