Ok Alaska Time...
I am never going to travel with my mom again. She has the worst luck with Airplanes. She was determined that we were going to lose our luggage or something. We got to the airport and our plane was delayed for an hour because the crew had come in late the night before. So then when we did get on the plane, one of the radios wasn't working, so they called a mechanic from the other side of the field. He came over 45 minutes later, but did not bring his tools, so 15 minutes later, he was back with his tools and three seconds later, it was fixed. Since we were delayed already, we were put on standby for a flight from chicago to seattle. We got there just in time, and there were only 2 seats availiable, so my dad and I got on the plane while my siter and mom were going to wait for the next plane. Dad and I got to Seattle and all of our luggage showed up with us. Mom and Katie got on a plane to LA and sat on the tarmac for six hours. They got to seattle the next day a couple of hours before we left for the boat. "A bite of Seattle" was going on under the Space Needle, so I got yummy Thai food from there.
I woke up at 3 the next morning, because it was like 6 over here and that is when I normally get up. At 5 my dad and I decided to take a walk around the city. It was fun, but nobody was around. I went shopping because I realized that I had forgotten my bathing suit and my cousin Bonnie and her friend Aimee went with me. I got my bathing suit, then we went to a make-up counter and got free makeup. The lady said that I had beautiful eyes, then kept adding junk to it, but they looked good. We got on the boat and the first thing I did after seeing my room was go eat. I ended up eating about every 2 hours... I wonder why I am so hungry now. I wandered around with my sister just checking out the boat.
The second day was entirely at sea. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I remember food, and Dancing. We went dancing that night and ended up going to bed around 3 in the morning. I think that was with the time change too because we passed another time zone. Katie and I chose our shore excursions and we went to Dinner in a huge group. It was funny because the waiter was picking on my sister.
The third day we got into Ketchikan. It was a cute little town that Katie, my dad and I were going Kayaking. When we got to the group, the guide started talking to us and didn't stop. We went down to the boats and got all of our gear. Then we got into the two person Kayaks. Katie was in the back and I was in the front. Dad got to be in the Kayak with the guide. Katie kept forgetting that her foot was on the rudder, so we tended to turn a lot. We went to Whiskey cove and heard about sneaking alcohol into the brothels during prohibition. It was a beautiful day. We saw lots of starfish and Salmon were jumping all over the place. After the kayaking, Katie and I went walking around the town. We followed a trail and watched Salmon jumping up the stream. They were huge! We also saw this guy catch a salmon. It was a lot of fun. Tuesday night katie and the boys were buying me drinks. I got a little drunk, but it was a lot of fun. We went to Teppanyaki, a Japanese steakhouse on the boat for dinner. It was amazing. The guy made us food and it was good. The boys were all kinda hurting because they were still drunk. I was too, but they were a lot worse then I was.
The fourth day we went to Juneau. Katie went fishing with the boys and I hung out with my aunt, cousins, and their friends. We went shopping and I got this gorgeous painting of Dragonflies. The artist comes to Juneau once a summer and it happened to be the same day that we were there so I got her to sign the back. I had a lot of fun hanging out with my aunt and gang. That afternoon we went into Tracys arm and went towards the Sawyer Glaciers. It was a little cold but all the ice floes and bergs were fun to watch. The Glaciers were amazing. We couldn't get to close to them because of all the ice, but the trip out there was fun. My mom took 96 pictures of ice! I went in the hot tub and it felt soooo good. The water was perfect so we could sit in there for long periods of time. After today, the hot tubs were too hot.
The fifth day we went to Skagway where katie and I went rock climbing. Our guide was a lot of fun. Christopher (or topher, anything but Chris) stayed with my sister and me the entire time. I volunteer to climb first. (oh yeah there were 2 other guides with our group Aaron and someone else I can't remember) I climbed to the top then Katie climbed. After Christopher helped some other people climbed, he invited us to try to climb in the VIP room. Really it was just around the rock but Katie climbed then I did. We then went rappeling and I had problems starting out. The rope was wet so it was hard to start. I went pretty fast though afterwards. We then got to try one more climb on the hardest part of the rock. I made it to this inverted triangle about halfway up without falling. I tried three times to get over this triangle, but I couldn't make it. So I went down and let katie try, she fell about four times before she got anywhere near the triangle. I gloated on the inside. That night, my cousin Denise decided that she wanted to dance with this cute guy and asked him to dance. she found out that he was 21 (even though he looked around 30), then she brought him over and had me dance with him for the rest of the song. It was a lot of fun. Michael was very cute (and looked younger when he wasn't wearing a suit).
The sixth day we went to Prince Ruperts island in Canada. there was nothing to do there. I went shopping at a place sort of like walmart and got a book. In the later afternoon, Katie and I went on this rainforest walk that was a lot of fun. We walked through a bonzi forest, and saw a lot of big trees. We ended up in this place where when the tide is going in, the river was heading east, and when the tide was going out, it was going west. It was cool to watch. We ended up seeing a pod of Orcas. They were so beautiful!
The seventh day, we were at sea all day again. We saw dolphins twice from the boat and they were going along with the boat. We eventually lost them because we were still going faster then they were.
Saturday we got off the boat and hung out in Seattle. I went to see and I-max movie and explore the exhibits of a museam. It was cool simply because some of the exhibits were fun. There was a huge parade that night and it was over 2 hours long. it was about 1 hour and 45 minutes longer then any parade that we have in Vermont. Drill teams are really popular out there, I did not get the concept.
Sunday I hung out with my mom and dad and we went to an aquarium, the space needle, pikes place fish market and on a Duck tour. Our plane left at 11:30 pm so we needed to pass the time. When we finally got on our plane, it looked like everything was going well, I slept the entire trip. The second plane was also flawless. The problem was that out of all the people on our plane (about 20) ZERO people had their luggage. That sort of sucked, but this means that my mom did my laundry then came to visit me with it.
I am sure that I left stuff out but this is long enough as it is. I will probably tell more in person and as soon as I get copies of pictures.
OH and work invited me to work over christmas break if I wanted to, including housing if I couldn't live in the dorms. hmmm I should figure out if I can stay...
Peace out homies
