So. Golden Demon.
Yeah, that was a waste of our time. £20 a ticket and five hours with over 8,000 men with no concept of personal hygiene to come away with... a single pin badge and a bit of paper.
Any other year would have seen us coming home with a statuette. But this year everyone and their Mum was entering really good vehicles into Demon, so although Hubby got down to the final 6 and it was the closest competition ever, he wasn't put on the winners shelf. My entry (which made the final two years ago and is better now) didn't get through the first cut and neither did Hubbses teminator librarian which he scratch built and only finished at 5.50am on Sunday morning. Both were good enough, but the judges were being *really* strict this year, impossibly so!
Mind you, I looked at what didn't win in my category, and I had no chance. Hubby's going to put his vehicle in again next year for another try. Maybe a little tweak here and there, but most o it's pretty much perfect.
I'll post pictures separately, because I don't have access to photof*ckit at work...
The high point of the day was meeting up with a mate from Plymouth at the end of the day and having a lovely chat. Shame we both had to drive to Birmingham for it!
