Wow.  I mean.  Wow.

The gig last night was absolutely awesome.  The two support bands were excellent.  The first up was a group called Go Audio.  Their album is being released on the 25th August, and I am so totally buying that.  They didn't suffer from what I call Support Band Syndrome, in that they didn't just smack the volume up to 11 and swear a lot.  Plus the lead singer was cute, so that's always a bonus.

The second band up were called Koopa, and they are in the Guinness Book of Records for managing to get to No 16 in the charts despite not having a record deal, so that must have been on downloads alone.  They will also be releasing an album - they've just got back from the US where they had been recoding it with one of the members of Blink-182.  And they did remind us of them in their sound, so I'm not complaining!  They seemed very relaxed on stage, and it came across in their music, and their entire attitude.  They even did a cover of "500 Miles" bu the Proclaimers that was excellent.

And the big guys.  BFS.

OMG they were as good as ever!  Played some of their more established songs like Almost and Punk Rock 101, and they also played their brilliant cover of Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby One More Time" which went like a house on fire because everyone knew the words.  And I admit to loving the original, so their cover version was even better!

Classics like The Bitch Song, High School Never Ends and When We Die were just as well received, and I think everyone came out of the gig with massive grins on their faces  We also had a lot of fun with the word "moped" from Girl All The Bad Guys Want, because they got us singing along, and then left it to us while they had a beer :)

BFS are always well received in Bristol, and I woiuld like to hope that they enjoy coming here.  And their two support bands have got a bunch more fans as well!

(Off to Tweaksbury tomorrow, hurrah!)

things of awesome, gigs
