Dear X-Ship Exchange 2019 Author

Dec 22, 2019 18:43

Dear Author,

This is coming so late and I want you to know I don’t expect or need you to use it. I was always going to be happy with whatever you chose to do; this was just meant to be a resource, and I am truly sorry I didn’t get it up near in time for it to be useful if you did want it. I would also like you to know it doesn’t matter at all that the prompts aren’t all the same length; receiving a gift for any of these ships would be an absolute delight. Thank you for writing for me.

Parallels and contrasts between characters and their journeys.

Characters looking out for each other and rescuing each other, giving care and emotional support. Especially women receiving care and support, getting their needs made a priority by their loved ones.

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Two destined heroes, unconventional within their context and struggling to balance their duties with their personal desires, capable of deep love, and hellishly dangerous in battle. A slight tendency to brood and cut themselves off because they are the One and nobody else can do what they can do. Then, they both experience the depression of having to keep living when they thought their life was over, they were done, and it would have come as a relief to be dead. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream-they’re both psychic that way-or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe she ends up on Tatooine instead, or he and/or Shmi got taken there at some point from Tatooine, and they escape together. Then they bond! Maybe they’ve been dreaming of each other all this time without knowing, being a comfort to each other. Maybe when Buffy died, they connected on the astral plane, and then she’s pulled back to life…

Star Wars as an artifact of pop culture exists in the Buffyverse. I'm fine if you want to handwave that away or if you want it to remain so, however you handle it. maybe Once Upon a Time it, with there being different Realms of Story, from which Buffy characters and Star Wars characters are pulled to live in the real world. Or Jumanji it, where characters from either canon are stuck in the other and have to deal with all the rules until they get out.

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They’re both so resilient and brave and snarky. They are both lost to themselves and to the world sometimes, but they persist in living and eventually finding meaning and purpose in their fight again. They’re unconventional and independent and caring and that’s what saves them, and what makes them good leaders who inspire others and connect to them in terrible circumstances. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream-they’re both psychic that way-or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe in this case it’s actually something like the hunting game Ahsoka got caught in during The Clone Wars, and this time they’re trapped together! Escaping and bonding ensues.

James T. Kirk (Star Trek Prime Timeline)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

They’re two of a kind, in a way. They’re warm, friendly people-loving people who try to be strong and compassionate leaders and do good, and they go through some weird, terrible shit. But with totally different contexts-he’s a captain, this is part of his chosen career and he’s recognized for his performance of his duty, with a support system to go with it. Buffy’s support system is what she can find with her friends and family, who were that first before they were her teammates in world-saving, and there’s no societal support for her life, no resources for her to fall back on to help her in trauma and other times of need-which are pretty much ongoing. How would it be to put them together? Time travel is canon in Star Trek; what if Jim goes back to the Sunnydale era and finds himself in Sunnydale, unable to help feeling empathy for her or getting involved in some life-saving? Or she goes forward in time-magic shenanigans, or she’s immortal in some way after the Slayer spell and still hunts demons in the future, or she’s frozen like Khan was-and Buffy, with a future even more open than it seemed in Chosen (if also bittersweet because of the loss of her loved ones from the show), gets up to adventures with him while exploring the galaxy? Or you could do a fusion in which one of them is AU’d into the setting of the other. How does Buffy do having to slay and have a life in space-would she be interested in joining Starfleet, can she make it with her life, or does she go out on her own, or relying on other people’s resources? Or maybe she doesn’t have to slay at all, she’s just another person out there dealing with weird things, as Star Trek characters do. Maybe Jim is part of the Initiative program, or its successor group which Riley joins in canon. Also, he is reportedly a book nerd in the Academy, and college is when Buffy got to start flourishing academically and in terms of her seeming to take pleasure in her studies before she had to drop out, so there could be cute stuff with that in an AU which puts them in the same setting!

Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

This could be really fun! Buffy likes to sort of escape or find solace from her life by talking to older guys-why not go on adventures with one instead? Of course the Doctor’s adventures tend to involve strange encounters and saving people; still, at least she could get out and see the universe aside from Sunnydale, and she’s not the only person with extraordinary abilities around to help. And she can always get back to the time she left! Helpful for if she’s trying to maintain a normal life on earth, or even just keep in touch with her loved ones if this is post-Chosen and she’s a little more free of the saving the world burden. Imagine the Doctor having to deal with her being strong-willed and doing her own thing-Twelve seems to like that in Clara, so I could see Buffy being right up his alley.

Spock (Star Trek Prime Timeline)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

I like the potential vibes of this! Buffy is blatantly guided by her heart and uses it, but-struggle with accepting this thing which was thrust on her notwithstanding-she’s committed to saving people, she’s willing to sacrifice and bears the weight, containing so much pain inside her to be strong for others. And she can be a pretty observant, intuitive person with people, and so empathetic and protective. Spock is so professional and level-headed, but he does have that deep well of feeling he keeps contained, because he understands he should, and a loneliness despite being among close friends which I think they could be able to recognize in each other. Buffy has a habit of being in quiet moments and talks with guys who get where she’s at even if they have different angles: Giles, Angel, Spike. And Spock doesn’t quite have the habit, but you see him being able to connect to Zarabeth as she shares her loneliness, external factors making that easier for him notwithstanding. They both know, for different reasons, something about what it’s like to walk in two worlds and try to live a life in which their whole selves can be fulfilled instead of denied. Plus, they both died a sacrificial death only to be brought back by determined friends. He’s the logic guy, but he also respects and values people who operate a little differently-I feel like Buffy is a little like Jim. And Spock is a little like both Giles and Angel, with the researching and the curiosity about new things plus that one time he quoted Byron, and the deep well of emotion he keeps in check. Not to mention the pon farr thing, which is different from Angel’s worry about losing his soul and wanting to find peace in her, but...it’s still related to the potential danger of instinct taking over, and their fear and shame of such a thing happening. And I can’t help but compare Jim being willing to get beat up to help Spock and then faking his death, with the resulting distress on Spock’s side and his willingness to get punished afterwards, to Buffy making a feverish Angel bite her and drain her to save him, and Angel’s resulting distress at his lack of control and wanting to remove himself from Sunnydale even further as his worst fears were confirmed. (This is optional of course, but I’ll mention it because it’s where this line of thought got me: if you want to do Kirk/Spock/Buffy instead of either Jim/Buffy or Buffy/Spock, you totally can.)

As for the logistics-there’s canon time travel in Star Trek. Buffy might see him in her context of demons, because that’s what she knows, but she’s capable of recognizing this doesn’t mean she needs to hurt him pretty quickly: see Angel after the initial post-kiss shock, and Oz. As for AU’ing Spock into this setting-maybe he’s trapped in this dimension, or he/his family had to flee their home, or they ended up estranged something like in canon, and he’s got to hide himself to blend into this human society which is so much more backwards than in the TOS future, causing angst. If you want to add some mentor/mentee dynamic to it, maybe he’s a college/Starfleet Academy professor and she becomes a surprise favorite. Or he’s her Watcher (in either canon’s setting.)

Imhotep (The Mummy Series)/Buffy Summers (BtVS)

These two fun horror canons would go well together. And the characters! Imhotep the tragic lover, and the perpetually recurring villain about to end the world. Buffy the brave heroine, and recurring lover of demons with sad backstories who’ve tried to end the world. Maybe someone tries to bring him back, again, and Buffy’s on the trail, but it turns out he doesn’t want to come back. She can empathize. Or maybe her death in “The Gift” really did send her to hell, body and all, they meet, and he accompanies her out once her friends do their thing. What if he were brought back and, due to his low spirits, he’s just been around the world not doing anything particularly evil, and then post-Sunnydale Buffy meets him while tracking down some artifact?

Cassian Andor (Star Wars Rogue One)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars Animation)

They started out life on opposite sides during the Clone Wars, very young--although the difference of Ahsoka being fourteen and Cassian being six is significant--and end up being vital to the Rebellion: Ahsoka as an early leader who founded the spy network, Cassian as a leader who took the name she created and stole the Death Star plans. The other thing that interests me is that Ahsoka, while not Jyn, did need some convincing to join the Rebellion, after a year of just being on the run and doing disorganized good deeds that went against the Empire on the way. And that's after walking away from her position in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Whereas Cassian got into this when he was a child and never looked back. He was certain of the cause and clung to that, where Ahsoka did not.

As the person who ran the spy network for most of the years between the rise of the empire and a New Hope, I like to think Ahsoka would have known of Cassian and perhaps even met him, before he adopted the name she created--Rogue One is only a few years after the events of Rebels, if I understand things right. Or just go AU with it. If Cassian was ten years older during the Clone Wars, might he have encountered Ahsoka directly, or indirectly? How would that work if they met again within the Rebellion? Or if he were an ISB agent and she were a Sith? what if she had been a Separatist too? If the CIS had won the war, could they both be high in the government? Or maybe just one of them, while the other is part of this AU’s Rebellion?

Michael Burnham (Star Trek Prime Timeline)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They’re both warm and loving, supportive people who were taken in at a young age as part of a culture which placed a high value on emotional control and being able to be detached, but at the same time dedication to logic and Jedi dedication to the Force are pretty different! And they’re both nerds; Michael is a xenoanthropologist and Ahsoka knows languages it’s not very common for people to know, and in one of her final appearances appears to involve her delving into the mysteries of the Force. They’re also so deeply principled; they do struggle with their hearts, but they also have times when they stand in contrast with the morally compromised authority of the institutions they are/were proud to be a part of. I love how deeply the values of their culture matter to them, while at the same time they must navigate it from a position of difference. They have to reckon with who they are and the context they live in; it would be very interesting to see that play out in the context of relationships with each other. They’re both dedicated to the people they love. And they’re both funny! I think they could have fun together and be intrigued by each other. In a universe in which both the Jedi and Starfleet exist, how might people with different yet similar philosophical backgrounds relate? What if Ahsoka comes to their side of space while on her quest for Ezra? Or maybe she walks out of her dimension via Malachor and into Star Trek’s.

Spock (Star Trek Prime Timeline)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

So these two both know what it’s like to grow up in a culture which teaches mastering emotion, in different ways-logic as a philosophy versus serving the Force. Ahsoka’s a warm, expressive teenager who grows up to be a warm, if also more level and sometimes mysterious adult with a lot of hidden pain. We see Spock as an adult, also with a lot of hidden emotion and cool exterior, and a sweet side, and a subdued sort of humor-and if you are familiar with Discovery and willing to take it into account (I am happy regardless of which show’s Spock you know and write), a really angsty past in which he had to struggle to fit into the world he was born in. And as seen with Pike, he’s definitely willing to do stuff he technically shouldn’t in order to help someone he cares about. They’re both deeply loyal people. As above with Michael and Ahsoka, I love how deeply the values of their culture matter to them, while at the same time they must navigate it from a position of difference. They have to reckon with who they are and the context they live in; it would be very interesting to see that play out in the context of relationships with each other. I like to think they’d enjoy each other’s sense of humor and share some nerdiness-he’s exploring the galaxy after all, and Ahsoka has so much mystical stuff surrounding her, and we last see her going off to do her own exploring (slash rescue mission) in the Unknown Regions. In a universe in which both the Jedi and Starfleet exist, how might people with different yet similar philosophical backgrounds relate? Not to mention, Vulcans are kind of psychic and so are Jedi/Force-users; how might that mix? What if Ahsoka comes to their side of space while on her quest for Ezra? Or maybe she walks out of her dimension via Malachor and into Star Trek’s.

Elizabeth Swann (Pirates of the Caribbean)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They’re both impulsive, quick-thinking women with a willingness to step beyond the roles they’ve been raised in, and they both hold freedom dear, choosing to make their own paths. Pirate king and a rebel leader, they are willing to fight against an encroaching, crushing force. They could have fun adventures together! Say Elizabeth is going for space piracy and Ahsoka, out of the Jedi, teams up with her for something. Or Ahsoka, AU’d into the Pirates of the Caribbean setting, is trying to make her way on Elizabeth’s seas. Maybe their tendency to be entangled with magical, mystical things brings them together.

Agent H | Henry (Men in Black Movies)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

He’s got all this experience with interstellar politics, Earth/space out there relations. What if those relations had to be with the Republic? Or the Jedi existed in some form in the MIB universe? He’s difficult and cynical and she’s annoyed but dedicated and snarks; maybe she knew him once or maybe they just met and now they have to stop some underhanded things and bond. It would be fun!

Valkyrie (MCU)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Both disillusioned, both choosing different paths-or one took a longer time to get back on theirs, depending on where you take Valkyrie from. Valkyrie is the last of her kind and Ahsoka is the last of hers, at least to her knowledge until Rebels. Maybe they’re both lost and meet each other in a bar, Valkyrie having left Asgard and Ahsoka having left the Jedi/being on the run from the Empire. Maybe Ahsoka needs to find a place to lie low, and Sakaar provides, but not without its own troubles. Or Valkyrie and the Asgardians’ escape from Thanos leads them into the Unknown Regions, where Ahsoka is on her quest. What if the Asgardian empire is still conquering, and Valkyrie is still serving its throne? Are they at war with the Republic, or is Ahsoka a Rebel agent?

Agent M | Molly (Men in Black Movies)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They both try so hard to prove themselves as members of their organizations, and they wind up with people who don’t seem to take them seriously at first. But they’re determined and brave, snarky badasses. If the Republic, or at least the Jedi exist in some form in the MIB world, I’d enjoy seeing them meet and bond during an adventure trying to stop an impending coup somewhere or something.

Twelfth Doctor (DW) & Missy (DW) & Anakin Skywalker (SW) & Ahsoka Tano (SW)

Both Star Wars and Doctor Who are highly capable of crack, and I love it.. The timeless/all-times hot spots of Star Wars-Mortis, the World Between Worlds-could pull the Who characters in, or perhaps dump the Star Wars characters into something unexpected. Dealing with the Doctor’s roughness and strangeness might actually be familiar to people who’ve had to answer to Yoda. And what if Missy tries to mess with them to have a little fun and attract the Doctor’s attention?

There’s a prompt I’ve borrowed, with permission, from selenak: Missy bodyswaps with Ahsoka, so Anakin is stuck with her and Ahsoka is stuck with the Doctor. I liked the idea of Missy in Ahsoka’s body making herself empress with Anakin serving her, but I’d also be delighted if you want to do the bodyswap part without it going that way. Or maybe the Doctor is swapped with Anakin instead.

I’d also love some other way for Missy to come and mess things up for them; she managed to trap souls after death to turn them into Cybermen after all, and you know Anakin’s thing about death. Maybe he’s trying to repeat what he did with Ahsoka, or even bring her back from the dead when he thinks he as Vader has killed her. Or maybe Ahsoka runs into the wrong portal-and Missy-when she’s navigating the World Between Worlds, given how it can take you anywhere you’re thinking of, and they get into a mess with Anakin, which the Doctor tries to help set right.

Carol Danvers (MCU)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

It’d be so much fun if these two met! With all the snark and the way they’re so emotion-fueld despite the cool they were trained to maintain. They could run into each other in the Unknown Regions, maybe, both of them wandering around helping people, or perhaps Ahsoka runs a bit farther than she planned to while avoiding the Empire. Or Carol is AU’d into the Star Wars universe as a brainwashed lieutenant and sparks-and memories-fly when she investigates Ahsoka or throughout various encounters they have.

Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)/Yvaine (Stardust - Any)

Yvaine watches the world, and is not part of it; Ahsoka is part of it, but meant more to help here and there as a Jedi than to take a role in galactic affairs. They both love adventure and action, even if Yvaine has never known it before falling from the sky. They’re both wanderers, and mystical beings of a sort: Yvaine the star, Ahsoka what’s left of the Daughter, the embodiment of light. If you go with the book version of Stardust, they can never be among their kind again, and they continue after the people they love most are gone; there’s a breath of loneliness to them.

What if Stormhold is a planet, and Ahsoka comes to consult-and to grieve-with its ruler? Or maybe she just comes to investigate some strangeness associated with it. Or Ahsoka is an immortal being, coming to join the land of Faerie after the long ago events of her life, and meets Yvaine on an adventure there? Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?

Poe Dameron (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars Animation)

Ahsoka would be a legend by now, and I really like the idea of her having authority over Poe-or sway if she’s not an official part of the Resistance for whatever reason. What if she’s one of his heroes? Meanwhile, his being a hotshot pilot could give her a little nostalgia. She could keep an eye on him, but not really mind. Maybe she’s just come back from Malachor, and it’s the future, and she’s willing to help the Resistance once they’ve all confirmed who they are (perhaps with some help from Leia or Chewie). Or she’s one of the allies in the Outer Rim, having returned from the Unknown Regions, and he might’ve been sent to her; alternately, she saves them at the eleventh hour and they have an encounter in a brief moment of downtime.

Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

He’s gruff and weird but he helps people, and Ahsoka is used to weird. She impulsively helps people and takes action, takes risks, and he likes Clara so I can see him liking her. Ahsoka’s already got time travel in her story. Why not go off to be a Doctor’s companion instead of whatever she’s doing when stranded on Malachor? She can just come back to the same time anyway. He loves going around time and space and there’s so much for her to see, now the future she thought she was going to have is once again unclear.

Clara Oswin Oswald (Doctor Who) & Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Both of these women are saved from deaths they have accepted via time travel shenanigans, and yet they cannot go back to the lives they led before, so they take off, Ahsoka with a galaxy to wander and Clara with all of space/time, leaving those who were most important to them behind. What adventures might they have together, discovering new, beautiful wonders of the Force/the universe and saving people along the way? What stories might they swap, if they just chilled at a bar at the end of some galaxy or other and talked?

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

These two are charged with energy all by themselves, and the thought of them with each other is delicious. Both of them have this intensity of feeling, and the whiff of prophecy about them. They both have a desire to remake the world around them for the better, and a ruthlessness in following that drive. With interesting differences: where Dany is willing to learn to rule and to navigate mercy while in an environment that encourages violence, Anakin is raised to value mercy but struggles to adhere to it, and he isn’t raised to think he can rule-he just decides it as part of his personal fuck everything breakdown. What would it be like, if they could meet? The potential vibe reminds me of the Daario scene where he kneels and delivers the heads of her enemies. At the same time, they started out as gentler souls, and they have love in their hearts. They could share an understanding, I think. They’d be a potent mix. Also, I like the appearance of flight in their stories: Anakin is the best flyer and it’s part of how he got out of slavery, where Daenerys is the first to fly dragons in many years, which provides her with both power and a means of escape. Plus they both love doing it. And I know this is more book Daenerys, and I haven’t read the books, but the line “if I look back, I am lost” has always been very striking; it seems like something that could apply to Anakin, who, as he states in The Clone Wars film, “[doesn’t] want to talk about my past...The desert is merciless.
It takes everything from you.”

Feel free to AU either of them into the other’s universe, or have them share one, or let the mystical shenanigans fly free. They dream of each other during bad times, they might or might not know they will meet.

Ares (Xena: Warrior Princess)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

Ares wants a champion to unite people through conquest, and Daenerys wants to conquer for her cause, both to take a throne and because she sees herself as being able to use her birthright and power to do good. Ares likes people who can challenge him and not need him, and Daenerys is both willing and able to challenge and use the powerful men around her to get where she needs to be. Then, Ares isn’t inclined to care about a cause and helping people, whereas Daenerys will pause in her goals to use her power for the sake of others. These two could be a really volatile pair. Fire to fire. I’d absolutely love to see how it would work, with Ares finding an excellent learner with her own mind and goals, not always in step with his. Imagine all the push and pull!

Caspian X (Narnia - Lewis)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

I really like thinking about how Caspian X is the heir to a line that conquered Narnia but is there to free it under his rule, and how Daenerys is the heir to a line that conquered Westeros but wants to free those she sees as oppressed, while planning to rule them; it’s interesting, that overlap between the power they’ll have and what they want to give others. What if they met as young monarchs? Or perhaps, given the Targaryen’s ancient connections to magic, the family and its return to power is something the Telmarines fear...but not Caspian. If she’s the one who replaced Jadis instead of the Pevensies, and the horn is set to call her...or maybe she’s someone he meets while exploring beyond Narnia.

Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)/Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)

So Xena really has a lot of women she loves and/or is influenced by in life, and we’ve seen she’s willing to dedicate herself to serving one and her cause with Lao Ma. Enter Daenerys, who also has lofty goals, but unlike Lao Ma, is more into the fire and blood and whose children are not going to be her enemies. Daenerys has a way with swaying people to her cause, a charisma and power to match Xena’s, if in a different way. They both have prophecies and destiny hovering over them, Destroyer of Nations and Mother of Dragons. And they both have a tender, sweet side they show to their loved ones. These two could be so devoted to each other, and a real power couple.

Elizabeth Swann (Pirates of the Caribbean)/Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)

The pirate king and the dragon queen! They’ve both got these transformations from restricted to claiming power and freedom. They value freedom, for themselves and for others. They’re daring and willful. They could be so fun if they met! What if Daenerys is willing and able to help Elizabeth defend the seas from supernatural threats, or from human ones they both have in common? What if Elizabeth grows up on stories of dragons and Targaryens and is intrigued when a real live one starts making waves across the Caribbean, enlisting mercenaries-perhaps pirates-to her cause, and Elizabeth winds up joining and climbing the ranks? Two respected leaders, powerful women who handle excitement well. They would be so hot!

Elsa (Frozen)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

I dig the opposites attract vibe these two have got with ice and fire, and especially because of the parallels. Both know the burden of being expected to be queen, of isolation, of family situations that are not so good-even if Dany has it more horrific on that last score. They have a great and awesome power which they both fear the consequences of for the innocent, though Daenerys’ situation compels her to use it openly where Elsa’s compels her to hide it. They both have these spectacular moments of just embracing their power, even if later they are conflicted over it. So, what if the two queens meet? Is Arendelle in Westeros, and does Daenerys come to court an ally for support in her campaign, or perhaps to help if the White Walkers are a thing? Does Elsa run far enough away that she’s close to where Daenerys is moving through, and Daenerys comes to investigate? Or perhaps Drogon, instead of flying to where the Dothraki are, makes it up North and leaves Daenerys there just in time for Elsa to have her freakout and run away, and Elsa has to rescue her from the cold.

Jasmine (Aladdin 2019)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

Neither of them was brought up to think they could or should be rulers in their own right, but they feel the weight of the responsibility and do their best to uphold what they see as their duty. And Jasmine’s big speech to sway the guard to her cause and away from Jafar’s reminded me so much of Daenerys, especially early seasons Daenerys rallying the Unsullied into following her after she’d freed them. What if Agrabah was in Essos, or close by, and Jasmine was an ally? Or Daenerys and Viserys find Agrabah a friendlier place than most to host them. Or Daenerys is mounting her campaign in the lands beyond Agrabah, perhaps coming to the city, and together she and Jasmine overthrow Jafar? Do they get married to cement an alliance, or because they recognize each other as kindred spirits they can trust-or perhaps both?

Peter Pevensie (Narnia - Lewis)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

Peter is a warrior king, and Daenerys rides her dragon to battle. They both have a sense of responsibility for the people under their care, and it’d be interesting to see them explore the conflicts of leadership and living according to their ideals. I also like the thought of Peter, who’s so protective of his younger siblings, meeting Daenerys, who was both raised by and abused by her older brother. It feels like there’d be some potential for him wanting to take care of her and Daenerys not really being used to that, but also having her sense of boundaries mixed up by being both a queen and sexually abused. Maybe they meet during a diplomatic visit?

Sybel (The Forgotten Beasts of Eld)/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT TV)

I’m mostly familiar with the show, but I’d enjoy a meeting with book Daenerys as well, or a combination of show and book elements. They both bond with legendary beasts, but in different ways, and they’re both beautiful white-haired ladies who exist at a kind of remove from everyone else, even if Daenerys is surrounded by people and tries to find belonging in her quest for queenship/saving the world, while Sybel was content to live with the beasts. Too, they both carry on different family legacies in a way: Daenerys carries the burden of her name and her desire to do better than her ancestors, and is the first in many years to be able to wake a dragon; Sybel takes to the ways of her family in her care and calling of beasts, and is doing so undisrupted until the events of the book. What if one of them were AU’d into the other’s setting, or both settings were fused together?

Again, thank you so much, and I wish you a good exchange experience.
