...as we are making our final descent into the end-quarter period. Please ensure that your footrests, seat backs, tray tables, straightjackets, and alarm clocks are in their full, upright and locked positions, and that all carry-on items, friends, and other distractions are securely stowed under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartments.
The first of my classes - Topics in Tectonic Geomorphology - ends today, in another 2 and a half hours. I've got my last research article summary set and ready to go, and we can hopefully wrap up our discussion of Altyn Tagh Fault slip rates without substantial difficulty.
Other than that, I am down to three last items on my to-do list:
- My final paper for Goethe class, due a week from Wednesday. 6-10 pages, of which I have written 4, and have material for probably another 4. A comparative study of Goethe and Schiller's use of the veil as a metaphor for concealment and protection. Fun stuff.
- My take-home final for Geochemical Thermodynamics. Handed out tomorrow, due Friday. It's open book, open notes, so while it might be an itch with a b in front of it, it will probably be doable in a reasonable stretch of time.
- My in-class final for Soil Physics and Hydrology. Friday next week. Must not neglect to study for this one, as I didn't do all that well on the midterm. Must. PWN. exam.
Other than that, I have two main items on my agenda:
- AGU fall meeting, a big geo-conference in San Francisco next Monday-Thursday
- Packing!
