Departure
Dear all,
Off I go! It's time for another one of my crazy adventures - this time, it's a first venture into the southern hemisphere, to South America, and to the Andes! I'll be gone until the 27th of March, at which point I'll surface at Stanford again.
Terribly sad to be leaving Berlin. This past week has been quite hectic, but somehow I've managed to mail my boxes, return the things I've borrowed, and appease the bureaucrats in time for departure. (Not without snags, though - most notably, losing a toilet plunger on the train. Highly discouraged.) Hákon, Hildur, Nick, and I went to Ron Telesky's Canadian Pizza last night, which was delightful as usual, and indulged in ice cream and cinnamon buns at Nick's place afterwards. Life is going to be strange without them. I don't look forward to exchanging this for Stanford dorms, that's for certain.
Will be keeping a diary in Argentina of my adventures with geology, (German) geologists, Spanish, and toilets whose water spirals down he wrong way! Or not.
