Why Pie?
Hmmm...Well, I saw something on tv a few months back about people having a little bake-off. Just some friends and family, having fun and sharing something they had taken time and effort to create.
It brings back memories of blurred moments. Also, a shameless way to get to try what will be some very good eats *smiles*.
Pies have nothing to do with an anniversary. But, something about the concept of pie seems to reflect on happiness and ceremony, joy and abundance, and good tidings. When you look back, isn't there a special memory that involved pie? Mine is of Aunt Dot (Yes, DOT), and her undercooked pies that her cats were licking. Our mom nearly gagged. There was another pie there, though - SOmeone had made a coconut cream pie. I had never tasted anything so delicious! I remember the taste, and have never encountered it a second time. Well, perhaps when senility hits, Everything will taste like that...
Anyway, I would love to hear your pie moments - Was there a special one that Grandma made? One that you struggled over and actually tasted good when you made it? Something that brings back a childhood memory?
