Watershed

AP and I went out for a date brunch on Sunday at the Watershed in Decatur, otherwise known as the restaurant where Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls is a partner.

OH MY WORD, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!

I had the french toast with seasonal fruit (blackberries and peaches) and candied bacon. (Bacon that's been, well, candied, in a sauce with a molasses base--very southern thing). AP had the ham steak with red-eye gravy, grits, eggs and biscuits. He said it reminded him of the way his grandmother used to make breakfast.

That's one thing that the ATL does quite well...breakfast. KF and I have met for breakfast numerous times over the past year, and we have yet to repeat a restaurant. My personal favorites have been Thumbs Up Diner, Sweet Melissa's, Rise 'n' Dine, and Sun in my Belly. Mmmm, mmm, mmmm.

The packing, it is well on it's way. The books and CD's have been sent via media mail to the PO Box. Everything else will *cross fingers* be boxed up by Friday AM, so I can enjoy my weekend. Monday, cynic51 arrives. Tuesday, the car will be packed up, and all the last minute things will be done. Possibly going to dinner at the Watershed for their Tuesday Southern Fried Chicken Special--I hear it's delicious. Wednesday AM early, we hit the road, and if all goes well, 12 hours later we'll be in Kansas City, MO.

Anchorage, or bust, people. Anchorage or bust.
