A long-overdue update

Were you eagerly awaiting the details of the rest of our Hong Kong trip? Many apologies - a lot of life has happened in the intervening months. Here are some highlights, in no particular order.

1-Our one-dog household became a two-dog household in May! One of ES's coworkers came across an 8-week old puppy when she was out walking her own dog- someone had clearly dumped the little guy in her neighborhood. She put up signs, took him to the vet, no one claimed him - and we decided to try him out. Little Newman (who is not so little any more!) quickly won over our hearts (ok, the human hearts - 15 yr old Cosmo was much more reluctant to come around - though now they are buds!) with his energetic ways. He's a regular at puppy day care now, which has definitely helped socialize him and tap out some of that energy. Almost housebroken, crate-trained, and very slowly becoming less of a jumper!

2-Some travel - ES and I went to California for a wedding, a trip to Yosemite National Park, and general shenanigans in San Francisco. It was our second trip to Northern California, and we had a great time. I easily could have spent all week in Yosemite - the 2 nights we were there was not enough! We stayed in Housekeeping Camp, and had a glorious day hike to the top of Vernal and Nevada Falls on the Mist trail. Amazing.

3-Improv! Been performing about 1-2x per month consistently. It remains a high point of my week.

4-Streamlined dinner choices - my friend EB clued me into a food service called Blue Apron - for $60.00 a week, they will send you ingredients and recipes for 3 meals for two people (don't worry, all the packaging is recyclable.) The appeal of this really has been, "We decide what you will make for dinner and give you the tools to make it." The recipes we've tried have been delicious, and it really has eliminated a certain level of decision-making when it comes to the grocery list. We don't do it every week, but it is nice to have it as an option, seeing as how we will have a bunch of decisions to make in the next year....why you ask?

5-July 4th, ES and I got engaged! Wedding planning decisions to be made! So many decisions :-) We're very happy and excited!

So that's the news!

improv, food, awesomeness, adventures
