Washington D.C. was amazing! Who would have thought that 2 million people all squished together in the same 3 miles could keep the peace? Not a single arrest, or dirty word, or selfish act. As far as I know, no one even cut in the line to get in! so awesome!
The day before, we got to hang our with Ken Calvert in his office and eat free snacks. He hooked it up big time and we were way close for the inauguration. We actually got to watch Bush's helicopter fly over our heads and hear the boos when he first arrived. Obama's speech was super inspirational and I felt inspired to work harder at life instead of striving only for personal gain.
The ball was fancy pants and we saw J.Lo, Marc Anthony and Tyra Banks. Obama stepped on Michelle's dress when we danced with her on stage. Drinks were expensive as hell but me and noah were hot stuff and some politician lady grabbed his ass.
We also got to see the washington monument, lincoln, vietnam, and WWII memorials, the wright bros. plane, the apollo moon capsule, George Washington's house and grave, the arlington national cemetery, the white house, the capitol building, the holocaust museum, and the spy museum.
highlights include: a room full of the shoes of jewish people who were sent to nazi death camps, spy gadgets used by real spies, actually sitting in on a session of congress, using the metro (reminded me of europe), the best swordfish in life and shuffleboard.
Now I feel all relaxed and happy and excited to know that I actually witnessed the first black president being sworn in.
