Theoretically, in a perfect world, everyone would be equal. However, in reality that concept is not obtainable. It has been demonstrated to humanity that equality and stability cannot be obtained together and work as one. People will always have a need for personal gain and are concerned only with self-interest. Growth can only occur if there is competition and possibility for one to better him or herself. If there is no personal gain, there is no incentive to improve and therefore humanity would fail. How upsetting, that's all I have to say. The poor must stay poor for our economy to function and even to flourish. What does that say about humans?
