A serious drop in the stress from work

This has been a much improved week at work. Monday, I went to my supervisor's supervisor and stated I was about ready to file harassment against my supervisor again. Her temper and attitude had gotten as bad as it was before last time I filed. According to company policy, two harassment charges are ground for termination. A couple of weeks ago, I asked to be moved to another section as I thought removing me from shipping would eliminate the entire problem. Early Tuesday, I was pulled into a meeting with the vice president of the company. He agreed that the situation was dire and they moved me to another section.

Now, I test hydraulic hose for conductivity. This is accomplished by spreading the hose over a 20 foot bracket (either one or two hoses depending on how the first couple of tests for a roll go). Next, I activate the machine which generates 75 kV (75,000 for the metric disinclined) and test how much passes between the leads and the grounds. Nine stations test two foot sections and two test one foot sections. When its all completed, I roll the hose onto a spindle and wrap it in plastic.

The person who previously had the position did not put forth much effort so the section hadn't been getting much accomplished for some time. Within one week of working the tester, I am already moving nearly as fast as he did. Needless to say, my new supervisor is satisfied with my work and I seem to be getting along with everyone around me much better than before.

So now I have a job which is much less stressful and I actually enjoy. Its very similar to testing like I did for my physics lab. Otherwise, my life is going fine and I'm keeping plenty busy.
