I posted last week about a wrong number who called me, demanding to talk to a person named Rosemary and refusing to accept that she had the wrong number. She called me back today, and after I told her again that she had the wrong number, she started up again.
Wrong Number: Ma'am, I spoke with you already about this. I spoke with you on the 6th and confirmed your account. Would you like me to play back the recording of--
Me: Is this call being recorded, then?
Wrong Number: *sigh* Yes, this call may be recorded for quality assurance.
Me: Good, because I would like your supervisors to know that, whatever company you represent, whatever product or service your company deals in, I will be avoiding them in the future, because you're not listening to me.
Wrong Number: You want to talk with my supervisor?
Me: I want to know what company you represent.
-Pause. Line goes dead.-
-Calls back.-
Me: Hello.
Wrong Number: So, you're telling me that [my phone number] is not the number for Rosemary [last name]?
Me: Yes, that's right. I know of no such person, and never have.
Wrong Number: Okay, thank you.
Me: Thank you. Goodbye.
So I think that finally did it. And all it took was threatening to get her in trouble with her supervisor -- and asking who she represents. To which I never got an answer, by the way. Interesting.
