Gone Road Tripping

Jul 25, 2009 23:48

So I've been on the road since June 5th. I went to California and visted my favorite hippy momma who offered me a job. We visited San Francisco and slept in the park. Also went to a slew of museums while we were there. From there we headed to New Mexico where we visited some friends for a minute before we headed up to the rainbowgathering.

Rainbow gathering was a blast, the many great pictures that I got have been posted on Myspace and Facebook. I ain't posting them anywhere else.
The Rainbow Gathering ... We tried to work on making a new security crew...that didn't work. I ended up getting my DSi stolen and found out that one of my childhood friends was a heroine adict and a drunk. Not, of course, before I let her take advantage of me totaly and scream at me after my DSi was taken (I was crying, they were telling me not to take an 'atitude' with them). Generally though the gathering was a blast. After Amaesa and Drake treated me like shit I moved to the Loven Ovens, where Aspen promptly set up Montana Camp. So I hung out and helped out the older hippies. I didn't get to do as much cooking this year as normal... but I still had fun. I did do dough for the oven on pizza night which is always fun. I feel like I spent a month working my ass off but looking back I don't know that I could say I did much more than help people carry shit. I actually remember feeling pretty useless a lot. The montana crew were all great. We had one of Zoe's A-camp rescues, Mason, come and build our fire pit. We all agreed it was the most level we could have gotten and that he was totaly hired. I played a lot of Magic cards with Tam, Justin and Noony, ahh the geekyness. The 4th Came and went without much excitement. The re-re's didn't know to form one circle so they formed a bulls-eye and then failed to wait for the children to break their bullseye to start cheering. Between these two things I got stuck at Crucial kitchen chopping garlic at noon and thus missed praying with everyone.... that sucked, we all felt sort-of robbed, but were unable to get another circle at midnight to compansate... As our numbers began to dwindle we had more and more fun. Aspen and Autumn invited me to go to Europe with them at the end of the year, I think I will be going. One of my friends invited me to his wedding in Mexico and let me know that it was going to be October 2010, which I will also be going to. We stayed at Rainbow Gathering from June 11th till July 7th, almost a month.
After Gathering our bliss lasted for about two hours, at which point we got to reception and were informed that my god father Lloyd had passed on the 4th of July and that his wake would be in Berkely, Ca on the following Saturday. We putzed around for a bit hanging out in New Mexico and then Phenoix before finally ending up back in San Fran for the wake. It was wonderful to meet some of the other people in Lloyds life. One day I might tell you about him if you ask, but what I will say is that never has a more Wizard like man lived, and there has never been a better person to look up to than he was. I still cry when I remember that he's gone, he was my rolemodel, the only one and the world is a worse place without him in it. We're taking his patchwork backpack and pants back to Seattle. The hope was to have them framed, but I don't know what we're going to do. I would rather like to keep the back pack and my father is very much with me on this. So we will just have to see....
After the wake we headed up to Missoula where I hung out with Aspen for a day and helped her pack for her trip to California and later Europe. The next few days were spent riding Aspens horse (it needed exercise) bareback - which I've barely done before. It was very 'nice' to be put into a situation where I was a complete n00b in front of my world class horse training/endurance riding friends (forhead wall, forhead wall). But I muddled through without falling off. I did that two days in a row, the next day I went swimming, found Tammy at a VERY random swimming hole and took a Very long dip before running off to get my first Tattoo. The video is on my Myspace profile at the bottom if you would like to see the hippyness that is my new tattoo (Sarana said it was the most hippy tattoo she has ever done and it didn't even include a rainbow, peace sign or onk). Sarana did an AWSOME job and I absolutly love the damn thing. She and I designed it from the idea that I have had since I was 12. Tattoos feel like someone is poking a sunburn with a needle....it's just plain annoying and painful - thank the goddess for endorphens.
Now I am in Boseman Mt with Cailin haning out I think we're going to the museum of the rockies in the morning and seeing as it's past 4am and they wanted to get up at 9am I think I should get some sleep.
