Ok just got home from my ringette practice and well lets just say it was interesting to say the least. My goalie was great today, she listened to what I was trying to tell her and practicing every move I was showing her which was awesome...I love it when kids do what they're supposed to. Anyway about half way through the practice she got super quite and looked very upset and wanted to talk to the coach. So she had a chat with him and said she wanted to play out, which basically means she doesn't want to be goalie anymore!! We don't have a spare goalie so that makes things kinda hard. But at the end of practice I talked with her mom and she told me that her daughter doesn't want to quit being goalie completely just for a few practices cuz she's getting super bored and I can understand that considering I was a goalie was well. So we came to a compromise, I'm gonna talk to the coach about having our goalie play out for one practice and in net for the other one...we have 2 practices a week now so we can do that just to change it up for her. I have most of the equipment to be in net so I'll be goalie when our goalie wants to do the drills and other stuff with the other girls. I hope this will help her get her spark back for being the goalie...I know she loves the position but it does get boring and you need a change of pace at times. So yeah we'll see what my coach says and if he doesn't go for it I'll come up with some sort of compromise that way there's more variety in the practices...plus I think it would be cool to get back in the net and have the girls shoot on me :)
In other news, I have to work tomorrow morning at 9:30-5:30. My cousin is sick so she called me earlier to fill in for her at day care so that should be interesting...I haven't been there since the middle of November, hopefully I won't feel all awkward around the girls! I also work next week Tuesday-Friday so extra cash for me!!
I'm also in the middle of job searching for teaching positions, wish me luck with that...not so easy but I know it takes time.
