Well, tomorrow is the final day... lay off day. I think I'm past the majority of the hard labor, and just in time since my back is killing me after all the lifting we did yesterday. Still no prospects on a new job yet and I'm losing steam on applying. I'm convinced this is going to be just like the first time I was laid off... me sitting around for a month working on personal projects.
Should make the gang at the forum happy. Maybe I'll finally finish multi-character support now that I've rewritten a bunch of the shop code.
Been playing my "mystery boy" in the chatroom on MZDM. So far, the things that people have discovered about him are:
1. Some have realized he was manufactured
2. His mind is a virtual tabula rasa
3. He introduces himself to people by holding up the tag tied to his right wrist -- although the ink on the tag is now unreadable, it apparently once said "011124-α" (thus some have taken to calling him Alex Alpha)
4. The only emotional expressions he has made are panic (when someone takes his tag off his wrist) and happiness (when someone writes out their name for him or shows him another tag with writing on it)
5. Although he doesn't appear to know how to speak, he is capable of vocalization, albeit weak and mostly incoherent (with "hoo" (food) and "ha er" (water) the only words taught to him thus far)
6. He doesn't appear to know how to express pain or discomfort except when it becomes incapacitating
