Compared with the end of my week, I had a fairly uneventful, drama-free, weekend. I worked both Saturday and Sunday because of Pilgrimage. We put 1700 people through the site this weekend and by the time it was over with I felt like I had personally spoken with every last one of them. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had to wear that silly dress. They make us dress up in period costumes for this thing and if I do say so myself, I look pretty good, but they aren't the types of dresses I'm used to wearing. They go all the way to the floor, they have huge petticoats and yards and yards of material in the skirt. If a big gust of wind comes along, you're in trouble 'cause it's gonna carry you away, kinda like Mary Poppins and her umbrella. Not to mention the fact that the dresses keep you considerably warmer than you'd like to be in March in South Louisiana.
I got some great picture of the Plantation this weekend, though. I can't wait to get them developed. I got to use some of my new equipment, too. My brother came over Saturday night nad brought me some old Pentax lenses he had along with filters and accessories, all in all he brought me about $1,000 worth of equipment I could use. Real old school too. Manual focus, big, metal.......great stuff. I can't wait to get them up in the mountains or out on the boat and really try it out.
My mom, my grandmother, and I are taking a trip the week after finals to the Smokey Mountains. Talk about God's country!!!!!!!!!!!! We have family up there we need to go see before it's too late and we all need to get away for a while.
My dad came home for the weekend. We watched "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" Friday night. OMG!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard!! I just kept thiking that "I know these people"
Saturday night we went out to Walker to eat at Lefleur's and then we went to The Old South Jamboree. My brother was playing bass for a band out there for a benefit for St. Jude's. It was alright. I just kept thinking though that I know I"m as good or better as those people who were singing and that's really what I should be doing instead of wasting my time here, but my friend is right about that little piece of paper......get it and once you've got it, if you choose to work at Wal-Mart, well, it's your choice, but without it, you don't really have a choice.
Well, I think I've gone on for quite enough right now. I should close now. Stay Tuned.......
