It is actually only meant for the Round Robin. I plan on recreating Exchangeland again if I ever get the legacy back up and running again. I'm just still pretty demoralized after doing another rebuild and then almost immediately losing that progress and needing to do another. "Elftown" is meant to be an alternate universe where all the "bad guys" won that spawned because the Writers keep blinking out of existence. I say this assuming the Round Robin is still on. If not, I suppose I could feature it specially and show its inner workings.
My sister over there is right about it still being under construction; I think it'll be more interesting if the Round Robin heir arrives when the town is on its second generation, or further. I'll see how my special set-up plays out and if it's viable, and have sims for the heir to have kids with that won't be straight out of CAS. I think it'll feel more organic that way.
As for the set-up with the elves... It's a concept I've sat on for a while. If I expanded on it, it could be a challenge, but right now it's more of a play-style. I was browsing the MTS challenge board for challenges that didn't get much attention, but had potential (I was looking for BaCC sub-challenges). I can across one that involving aliens. It assigned alien sims roles based on the TS2 alien lore (polytechs, colony drones and such) It was extremely bare-bones, offering an incredibly vague win condition (when you fill up the neighborhood) and not saying what to do with the second generation you were supposed to produce. I wondered if it'd be possible to expand on the idea and keep a viable population going over the generations. As for why elves rather than aliens? I was using Hat's Stolen By The Fairies mod at the time and planned to use telescope impregnation for certain castes.
I'm fair(l)y sure the Round Robin is still on. It's Sam who's going to start it, so it starts whenever she's ready to take it on.
The Elftown set-up sounds interesting, especially the "they're all evil" twist! Or are they? Maybe the Writers are actually the evil ones? :O I mean, they're prone to killing their siblings, etc... x)
I think maybe your sister should cut down a little on the typos, because it's a bit straining to read a story where two out of three words are misspelled. Leave in all the accidental ones, and use the intentional ones as a precision tool. :)
I've been waiting for all of us to be ready...or at least more ready. I'm forcing myself not to Sim at all this month because I have other work I need to do (*whimperwhimper* *withdrawal already*), and then I plan to devote May to my Ducklings because I haven't played them in ages. But I can start the uglacy in June.*
I think we should follow a posting order. I'm starting it, obviously, so who wants to be second, and who will be third?
*ETA: I should say, I can start in June if you guys would like me to. If anybody needs more time to prepare or whatever, I don't mind waiting. There shouldn't be time pressure on our uglacy. It should only be fun!
