For some reason, I didn't want to cheat the relationships up, when I made the Throttlewoods' extended family. I guess some of the reason was that, in the case of JB and his brother, they don't even like each other. Melody, however, is supposed to have a pretty good relationship with her sisters, so it was time to work on that.
This is Peggy Doris' little house in the woods. It's on a custom lot I placed by the river, and is pretty far from the road.
Melody: Peggy? Pee-Dee? You in?
Peggy Doris: Melly? What are you doing here at 7 am on a Saturday morning?
Melody: Good morning, elder sister. *shakes hand formally* I have come about the dragons!
Peggy Doris: ...dragons. Okay, then. You'd better come in.
Bethany was originally meant to be Erica, so the two look a bit similar.
Her backstory is pretty dark, compared to the silly nature of the rest of this uh... story. She's the oldest surviving child of the Farrell-sisters' cousin Brandon. Her older brother was very troubled and anti-social, and was generally disliked because of his behaviour. One day he was found at the bottom of a cliff. There was no suicide note, so the police could not rule out murder.
Because of her very poor relationship with her brother, who really was extremely unpleasant, Bethany's not been able to grieve. Although she was at school all day when it happened, and isn't a suspect, her mother was worried that her lack of appropriate emotional reactions would cause her to get into trouble, somehow. Harmony and Peggy Doris were happy to take her in for a while, hoping that having a "sister" around would be good for Bianca, too.
(That being said, it's mostly Harmony who looks after both girls.)
Bethany: Bianca says you're running for President. Is that true?
Melody: Wow! I am? Yes, of course I am! I'll have to thank Bianca for that great idea!
Melody: *Shares fact* Sometimes when you see a cloud in the sky, it's actually a huuuuuuge swarm of flies. (The previous bubble had flies in it.)
Peggy Doris: Wow!!? I'm gonna start wearing insect repellant when I go outside!
Peggy Doris is not a natural blonde. x)
Peggy Doris: So... President, huh? Are you going to be doing something about the dragons? *deadpan face*
Melody: Yes, I will make sure appropriate natural reserves are established for them, in their native enviroments. And I'll have the scientists work on creating powerful force-fields to keep them in. Public safety is very important.
Peggy Doris: I'll vote for you.
Bethany: ...
Bianca: I would really love to have a dragon! *sigh*
Melody: And if you find a llama in the laundry, you need to shake it really hard so all the fairy dust falls out of it. Then you sprinkle that on a tomato, and that's how a Unicorn comes to life!
Bianca: Really! I'm SO gonna try that! How do you know all these things? You're like... my hero!
In addition to her Dingo, Harmony has a Bernese Mountain Dog named Ollie.
Melody brought Fifi with her, so she could play with Lenny.
The puppies of these two would be so unbearably cute, but Melody & Co can't have more pets, and Peggy & Co can only get two more. I don't want to have to place them for adoption. :'(
Waffles for dinner FTW!
Peggy's got an interesting back yard. I like how Twinbrook is a bit grungier and and has a more muted colour-scheme than towns like Sunset Valley.
At this point I didn't have Seasons installed, so they couldn't swim in the river. It would be cool to have a beach right outside your back yard. :D
Melody: Hey, Bianca? May I join?
Bianca: *Dum di dumm* ...sure!
Melody: Oooh, it's bubbly!
Bianca: Mom doesn't like it when I do this, but I don't get why. I clean myself and my clothes at the same time, so she doesn't have to do so much laundry. Look how shiny my shoes get!
Melody: Don't worry about it. Your mother's always been so... proper.
Bianca: Don't I know it!? And this once she got really cross, because I put all the laundry in the back of her car, and drove it through the car wash with the windows down. I was just trying to help!
Then it was night, time for Melody to go home, and time for TigerAnne to prowl for townies that were offensive to the eye.
This is the barely recognizable Renee William-Brown. She had a really skeletal face. I think some EA employee made her that way to prove wrong all the players who complained about pudding-face and thought that skinny cheeks = instant beauty. I couldn't handle it, she looked as if she had been in a prison camp.
This is Jenny Jones-Brown, Renee's daughter, and mother of the floor-baby. She got a complete remake, too. Because...
...this was what she looked like before. Don't tell me that this isn't Paris Hilton!
And as you can see, I finally got around to getting some better eye-brows and make-up. I got new eye defaults too, because while I liked the old ones, the iris was too small.
Pattina Knack is really interesting looking. She could probably tell many stories. I may have to play her, some time.
Silver Racket is supposedly sad about her "lost beauty". I think a lot of it was restored by removing the age detail. :) I wonder if I can find some custom wrinkles that look more real than the default ones.
She doesn't actually look more than 30.
Abigail got a bit of an update too, since I decided to move her and the clones into JB's old house and make her theoretically playable.
I just really like Cho. :)
Terry A. Keyes is happy that it's a slow night.
Charmaine Manne looks like a cis-woman to me. Then again, maybe I'm mispronouncing her name. Maybe it's not "(a) charming man" but "charming men," as in she flirts with them to sell drinks.
Oh yes. This is Harry Valencia, who Peggy's got a romantic interest in. Nicely stylish chap, don't you think?
His Sims 2 version is a lot more like how I wanted him to look.
Amy Bull got a face-lift, because she barely had eyes to speak of. She still looks as if a clown exploded all over her, though.
JB: Don't get the wrong idea, Malcolm. I'm not here to be all brotherly, and stuff. It's Melody who's on this family-kick recently, and she thinks we need to sort out our issues.
Henry: I'm in my happy place, dancing with the butterflies. The real world doesn't bother me... ZzZzZz
AS USUAL the kids aren't at school! But at least Wilma is doing her homework, suggesting she has been attending class recently.
She looks a little better with the new make-up and brows. I still owe her a new haircut and some decent quality clothes.
Pidsley: I hate you, daddy! You're a bio-hazard!
Maybe that's why he doesn't mind them skipping school all the time. He's got motivations for not wanting educated kids.
JB: I found this great show on Netflix. It's called Jail Break, and in the episode we watched last night...
Malcolm: In my family, 8-year-olds are not allowed to watch, or even hear about, such vile shows! >:(
Behold: The original look of Frank Riley. I wasn't even trying...
Malcolm: James, you P.O.S. get out of the bathroom! I'm pissing myself in front of a cop!
JB: YOU WANT ME TO COME OUT IN FRONT OF A COP, WITH MY PANTS AROUND MY ANKLES AND MY *** FULL OF TOILET-PAPER???
Frank: Oh no, please don't do that. :(
He's not "favourite uncle" material. And when you see these kids' other uncle, you'll realise that says quite a lot.
I'm a little worried about Paddy. He's not got a single friend outside the family, while Ulric's got three best friends. I think the fact that this is what he does all day, even at classmates' houses, is the answer to the mystery.
I know I bash Melody's mothering skills a lot, but she does cook autonomously. If she get's really hungry.
Another service person who won't go home, huh?
See ya, Andy.
Paddy: Daaaaad? Melody is having one of those days again.
Melody: I haaaaate my work outfit!
Melody: Oh noez, my arm! It's got life of its own! I can't control eeeet!
Melody: Aaarrrrgh! It's attacking me. Grhgrhghgrhgr!
Melody: The penguins! They took my brain!
Paddy: Ulric? Are we a dysfunctional family?
Ulric: What does that mean?
Paddy: It's something we watched a film about at school. It means that your parents are really crazy, and you need to take care of them. It's really bad.
Ulric: Yeah, I think we are.
And the random "see you later" image is little Bunny Curious. I lost her make over since the game crashed right after this. Grr.
