The Throttlewoods - Part 3.

Jan 16, 2013 21:38

JB doesn't do mornings.

JB is a farmer, so he should have a vegetable garden to putter around in. At this point it took him all day long to weed the grand total of 12 plants, because he had no gardening skill what so ever. He got some less offensive PJs, since that's what he prefers to bum around in.

You have to make them plant, weed and harvest ridiculously many lettuces, tomatoes and apples before they get the skill to plant anything else.

JB really feels at home in the pen with his piglets. :) Oh, look. He's back in his underpants again. I think the pictures are a bit out of order.

The backyard looks a lot more inviting with a bit of terrain paint.

The boys had a squirrel, but it died. I think they forgot to feed it. The replacement was a rat called Chip. He lasted about two days before Ulric put him in his pocket and forgot him there until he escaped. Usually when a small pet escapes, it's on the floor in the same room. Chip however, was gone, because I think Ulric lost him outside.

This is Melody's rad car! She painted it herself, using 654 bottles of nail polish.

Melody was insanely bored at home, so I sent her out to meet and greet some of her neighbours. Because of her traits, she's very unpredictable and fun, and knocking on some random person's door is definitely something she'd do.

She went to see a family called the Winslows. Apparently I wanted to take a picture that showed their house, because I built it from scratch and was very proud of it. Remember this house, because it becomes sort of important in a later entry.

The Winslows have two daughters. This is the oldest of them, named Helena. Notice that she's not much to look at in these pictures. I made her to be kind of ugly. However... a bit of good custom content does wonders for her later!

Oh, and about Helena... She's Insane. In fact, she aspires to be a Mary Sue, because she doesn't see how that could possibly be a bad thing. Being so perfect that everyone hates you sounds like a worthy goal to Helena.

Her personality is so similar to Melody's that she could either end up hero-worshipping her, or declare her an ugly, old nemesis. I think the latter is more probable.

For some reason, the first time I played this house (before I started taking pictures), I decided to make them some sort of animal rescue. They had four kittens.

Annnnnd, because that wasn't enough, they had three puppies as well.

Melody started talking to Freddy, Helena's dad, and managed to insult his house. But her own place is not exactly an exercise in good taste either, so she had best appologize.

Melody: Kiss and make up?

Freddy? WHAT?! I don't even know you, woman!

This is the upstairs family room. It was based on something from a TV show, and I thought it looked really good back in the day.

I still like the layout of their backyard, though.

Melody: That gloomy, plain kid looked starved. I better feed her. Maybe she'll be less angry then.

"Inappropriate in a Good Way" is a very useful reward to have, since it lets your Sims cook and shower when they visit people.

Caitlin: This is delicious! Who made it?

Helena: The weird lady did.

Caitlin: What weird lady?

Helena: With the green hair?!

Caitlin: Helena, you're not... seeing things again?

Oh, and have a picture of their front garden.

Melody: *grumble* *grrrrrr*

Looks like JB is starting to develope the same facial ticks as his wife. Oh, and they have a cat. Her name is Minion. Melody really wants to be a Bond villain, and then she needs a cat to be her evil minion.

Helena's not the only crazy teen in Twinbrook. This is Bianca. She's Melody's niece.

Melody: Is your mother in?

Bianca: Nooooo... She's gone to look for guys.

Melody: Okay. Is Harmony in?

Bianca: Nooooo... She's at work. Or maybe she's gone to look for guys.

Since they weren't home, here's an older picture of them. Peggy Doris is the blonde. She's Bianca's mother, who moonlights as a bartender, and usually sleeps all day. When she's not gone looking for guys.

Harmony, with the red hair, is the youngest of the sisters. There are two more, but they're later inventions who don't have Sim models. (Persephone and Wendy Lou run a bakery of the kind you see featured on Cake Wrecks.)

Harmony has a foster daughter named Bethany. She's their cousin's daughter, who stays with them after her own family fell apart following her brother's possible murder. That part of the story is a lot darker than the rest, obviously.

Peggy Doris' dog Lenny. When PD is home and awake, she spends indefinitely more time fussing over Lenny than paying attention to her daughter.

Bianca has a few issues. With YOU!

So... Given the choice between a moody teenaged emo, and a cute little dog...

Bianca and Bethany get along really well, actually.

Harmony has a pet dingo, called Sierra. Oh, and Narrator wants to say something.

Yeah! It's wrong to keep wild animals as pets. Dad says so, and he knows a lot about science because he studies it in cages all day. It's really dangerous to keep dingos and wolves as pets, just because they're cute. You should adopt a puppy from a rescue instead, which is not a pitbull.

Thank you to Rae... uh, Narrator, for the PSA.

Melody: Why is nobody home to feed their children?

Bianca: Are you my Dad?

Army Man: Never seen you before.

Bianca: Are you Mom's new boyfriend?

Melody: Has she dumped Harry?

Army Man: No idea who you're talking about. I just invite myself into random people's houses for dinner, because the food in the army sucks.

Look! I can decorate a room without going bananas with patterns and colours! Okay?

Turns out that Harmony had been home most of the night. She was just busy with the Sims 3 variation of Very Addictive Object.

All the people in this family are relatively crazy in each their way. Just saying.

Harmony worked as a firefighter at this point. After a whole night of bouncing, she ran off to work again the next morning.

This is her car. Of course it's bubble-gum pink!

Melody returned home on Saturday morning, to find her drive occupied by both a wild horse (with a very well-groomed mane) and the creepy ice-cream van. That thing is parked outside your active lot about a third of the time, and it has no driver. The windows are black. I'm guessing it's either remote controlled by some evil master mind who tries to make everyone fat, or it's being driven by a mad clown. Or, you know, remote controlled and containing the re-animated corpse of a mad clown. Someone's taking the orders for ice cream, after all.

Since it was a Saturday, Melody went to the tiny bar I built on the empty lot at that peninsula with all the similar houses. (Where the ugly Jones-Brown skeletons live.) The dog belongs to Harry, Peggy Doris's boyfriend. I think his name is Remo, and that he's a greyhound.

Melody: Oh no! The nice men in white coats! Time to go home!

(It's Freddy Winslow and the Curious-dad.)

JB loves Boris. :)

And Butch is just so darn cute.
