Got chattong to J yesterday on msn and he said he would help me out getting to the diy store to find wallpaper. Easier said than done. After a muchness of hunting up and down th eisles we finally found the make of paper I wanted but not in the right shade. Thence began the never ending quest to find someone who worked in the store to akwolage that they were the right person to help up. Asked No1...he wandered up to the wallpaper section saying that there was someone on duty there to help us(There wasn't need less to say)He cornered No2 who was just clocking off work and as such was unable to help but she siad perhaps No3 (point alllll the way down the far end of the store) was the person we needed to see. Then she thought that sending out a tannoy call for No4 would be the best thing to do. No1 walked off, No2 walked off and we were left standing looking for No3 or No4 who never arrived. We went and found No5, who told us she couldn't help but that No6 who was just down that isle there, was in charge of home decorating and was the person to see. We duely trundle round the corner only to find No6 vanishing up on a crane lift thingy to move pots of varnish around on the top shelf. We wait. We wait a bit more. 2 mnore members of staff appear also looking like they are going to need to talk to No6(Not going to happen before us after all the piller to posting we have been doing!)No6 finaly descends fro on high and we beat the rush of workers and other custonmers to speak to her first. First thing she wants to do is check where we got the sample paper from. Yes I know a lot of people are idiots but we had at least checked that the paper wasnt there before embarking on this mamoth quest to try and find a person who knew what the hell was going on :S One we had established that the was indeed no rolls of paper there that matched my samples she looked it up on a computer which denied that said sample colours existed in the store. At this point No7 (Who was the only one of the lot who actually seemed to know what in hells name was going on) appeared. Less than 2 min later we had established that the only two colours of wallpaper in the whole of Bristol that I had found that I liked, were actually only a sample that had been sent over from Germany and that the store had no intention of reordering. *hed* *desk* From thence we wended our merry way over to Wicks (where there was nothing that matched what I wanted) over to Homebase(Where I nearly tripped over my own feet and made an impressive offbalance stagger for 3 meters, before not falling on my face) and then to Gardner Haskings after J had had that brainwave :D Lots of wallpaper there I hadnt seen before. None of it matched what I really wanted but there was a possible substitute which I will probably go buy tomorrow. There were shiny thing there and a lift that didn't go anywhere and a dinosaur and stuff for killing zombies and properly gold wallpaper that would look great on a new craft project I have in mind. I want to make a folding screen with the top part in gold and the bottm part decoupaged with my paintings of japanese cranes and Iris. It's on hold at the moment because I have just waaay to manyother pojests on the go that are more important atm.
Rich called me just as I got in that eve and we arranged to meet up and go for a drink down at the Jolly Sailor in Saltford. I was nice and we spent a few hours nattering away :)I came home and was feeling creative again so I had another go at making planets from scratch in photoshop. I'm definatly getting a bit better but I need to go through the process a few more times and experiment a bit more with the textures I'm using.
