Today had to have been the worst rowing day since I first go into a boat. It wasn't bad enough that I had to leave home to come to Baton Rouge. It wasn't bad enough that it was raining. It wasn't bad enough that I had to run for Friday's practice because not enough girls showed up. Today had to suck the most. I went to the dock at 1:30. I didn't get into a boat until after 3. There wasn't enough people again today. That meant that we were going to row a split boat. The boat was supposed to come back at 2:30. It didn't. That meant me and three other guys had to wait around in the cold for 30 minutes until the boat decided to come back.
I got into the boat. The seat made funny noises. The cox was Aaron (yelling boy from the first time I got into a boat). Everyone else in the boat has had experience rowing properly. We had to practice with just Leila this time (again!). I was doing my part. My seat came off the slide! My seat sounded and felt like it needed WD-40. My shins still hurt from all of the energy I was putting into them. I felt like I was fighting the seat. That meant I ran out of energy really quickly, and I had trouble keeping up with everyone else.
My little practice in the boat lasted 30 minutes. We had to carry the boat back. After we lifted the boats over our head, we were blessed with the rain that was caught in the boat while it was out since 1:30.
If those girls don't show up tomorrow morning, they will have a sore shin up their ass.
