20th Birthday
Okay, it's been a couple weeks since my birthday but i've been really busy and so since i'm not getting any work done i thought i'd catch up on my lj entries.. this one i'll dedicate to my 20th birthday and the people that made it a good time.
my birthday was the 24th of march. that morning we were scheduled to leave for UNC Wilmington for our first conference games. that's a big deal. anyways, the bus would be leaving at 9am, meaning we'd be meeting at 8:30am to go to our fieldhouse and pack our uniforms from our lockers and get on the bus. MEANING i'd have to be up pretty early and spend the majority of my birthday on a bus. i'm not a fan of complaining but that kinda sucks. yet, because i have some of the sweetest friends, i actually enjoyed my bday.
the night before, after packing up for the trip, i hung out in my suite w/ 2 of my roommates: liza and bri, to wait for my bday. smitty, vic, and amanda hastings (haste) came over too and just hung out and did a couple shots in celebration. we talked, made fun of each other, and it was just nice to hang out with them. at midnight they brought out the cake liza, bri, and smitty had gotten for me (not so secretly) and bri and liza gave me some good vodka as a present and we pigged out a little. laur and chrissy were there too (they had gone to mad mex for margaritas and lost track of time so they had to sprint back to make it in time for my bday.. haha.. they're cute). it was just really sweet and even though we couldn't go out or drink that much because we had games in two days, it was fun.
the following morning after we'd gotten to the fieldhouse and packed our uniforms, we were waiting for the bus so laur and chrissy gave me my bday presents from them. they did a good job! i got The Incredibles DVD, the Harry Potter board game, and certificates to ColdStone (ice cream = good). i love them! not only did they get me presents but eva baked cupcakes and 2 kinds of brownie batches for me (they were amazing!) and haste baked me cookies because she's a sweetheart. steph got me jelly beans too. they were the harry potter ones that taste like vomit, grass, boogers, and other gross flavors. hahaha. they really do taste like those flavors too!!
sooooo... i had a great birthday.... more importantly.. not only do i like my teammates, they're some of the greatest, sweetest, friends ever... LOVE YOU GIRLS!!
