Funny Little Thing Called Life
Funny how life goes. Funny how talking to someone for a short time still inpacts and touches your life. There is a video store about 30 seconds walking distance from us and Angyl and I have been going for several months. One of the guys who works there is from Canada and is into the same movies we are. It was the highlight of our day when we would rent movies because we stand up there just bullshitting about movies and how hard it is to find really good work coming out of Hollywood. He would recommend movies to us when we were having a hard time. There was a time when we didn't go often and when we did get up there, he would ask if we were ok because he hadn't seen us in a while.
Anyhow....his Visa is up this month so he has to go back to Canada next week. He said he's coming back, but doesn't know when. Funny how people you don't expect, touch your life so profoundly that you just can't put your finger on exactly how they touched your life...you just know they did.
We will be making it up there next week to say "later"....it's not a goodbye, goodbyes are forever. Even though we have only been talking to him for a few months it still saddens me that he will be gone for a few months. That's the good thing about living in a small town...you make friends with the video guy and you actually feel bummed if they leave. You actually worry if you haven't seen them in a while.
Oh well...I am sure we will see him up there again before we know it. I would rather him do what he is supposed to do rather than get in a lot of trouble.
