casino challenge results
First of all, circe_tigana and I just want to say one thing: WHOA. Neither of us had any idea what y'all would do with the fucked-up shit we cooked up for you all, and y'all went ABOVE and beyond the call of creative duty. We were blown away by the results, and frankly, I still am. Blown away, that is. Because WOW. *boggles*
Before I get down to the results, I thought it'd be nice to share with the others what each casino had to work with:

Dude, that is some RANDOM-ASS SHIT right there. Circe and I would apologize, but we're mean and love tormenting your brains, especially when the results are THIS FUCKING GOOD. Seriously. We are BLOWN AWAY. All of you worked together and came up with seven COMPLETELY different and wonderful concepts, and each one of them was just outstanding. After MUCH discussion and careful deliberation, we came to the swift realization that there was really no way to judge each entry against each other, because they were all SO different and SO cool and WOW. So, instead of just rewarding one person, we're rewarding EVERYONE, as well as issuing a Mods' Choice award for the casino that made us squee the loudest. ;)
So, the awards are as follows (and please, feel free to do whatever you want with the graphic -- put it in your userinfo, post it on your site, whatever!):
caesars_palace submitted butterflies & hurricanes in response to their challenge, featuring a delicious raspberry-colored layout and the hotness of Billy in a fucked-up paintmask. Cleverly, they played on the split nature of the photograph of Billy and used their mad html skillz to produce an excellent website offering everything from fic to icons. Plus, you simply HAVE to check out the FUCKING HILARIOUS Orlando Bloom video made by calendae. OMG STILL LAUGHING ASS OFF BWAHAHA! SO. MUCH. LOVE.
So for their stellar entry, we award y'all with:
The next offering came from excaliburcasino, whose assignment called for them to take a closer look at the seven days of the week. Their solution? Wednesday's Child. For each phrase of the poem, they offered up fic, icons, and even music, connected by the shore and the senses. Plus, they tickled Circe's fancy by remembering Good Omens -- hitting hidden kinks pleases the mods. And Circe would like to add that zarahemla OBVIOUSLY wrote The Scar just for her, and for that, there is love. *G*

luxor_casino took a different approach to a difficult problem, and holy shit, but they really blew me away: Check out Obsession: The Luxor Mosaic. I gave them the lyrics to "Laid" by James, and each member wrote drabbles or made artwork based on obsession for every pornalicious line of that song. Dude, how much do I *love* that? Especially when it yields results like doyle_sb4's Fight Club drabble (or, for that matter, her deliciously wrong Michael Moore/Bill O'Reilly drabble -- OMG MY EYES), or odycee's *delicious* Remus/Sirius artwork, or slodwick's multifandom banner celebrating Pablo Neruda? AWESOMENESS.

Next up was mgm_grand, who remembered that there is one thing Circe and I can't ever, ever, ever get enough of: cracked-out alternate universes. Also, Gary Oldman and Dom Monaghan. We never get tired of them, either. :) Hence, carniverse was born, and I am in love. It's fucking brilliant, yo. The most cracked-out carnival of fictional characters, actors, and artwork that I've ever seen. Check out iseult_variante, shadoedseptmbr and 2am_optimism's tig-and-art session and tell me that they haven't stolen all the good crack.

Personally, I think the people in mirage_casino were totally out to prove that circe_tigana and anniesj are the easiest fucking sluts in the entire world by totally playing to our weaknesses: Dom/Billy and Remus/Sirius. Throw in brilliant artwork, booze, and Captain Jack Sparrow, and you have Mission: Accomplished. This gang offered up everything from icons to artwork to mixed-CDs to fic, and they played up to EVERY ONE OF MY KINKS OMG. ;) There's everything from Dom/Billy as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern to one of the SADDEST fucking R/S fics I've ever read by minor_blue. Definitely some kick-ass work. :)

Just as I thought I was going to die from manlust, along came stardust_casino with the perfect solution: lots of sexy fucking chicks getting it on via Stardust & Peaches. Awwwwww, YEAH. Because femslash is NECESSARY. Yes. *nods emphatically* Especially when it comes in the form of things like minervacat's Fred/Cordelia/peaches drabble (OMG HOTTTTT), or ignited's fucking GORGEOUS peaches & bitches wallpaper. And, of course, the mod thanks all of you for indulging her sick, twisted fetish for peaches. Mmmmm. Peaches. *droooool*

And then, oh yes, and then there was the_venetian. Now, if mgm_grand was on some good crack, then The Venetian had to be on some fucking bomb-ass government shit, because DAMN. They took Jane Eyre, Keira Knightley and Eminem and turned it into the single most fucked-up musical ever: My Love is Burning. Oh my GAWD. I think I nearly fucking WET MYSELF reading this. A rap-musical of Jane Eyre starring Eminem and Courtney Love. *dies* Everything from reviews (including one from Gene Siskel, who apparently was ressurrected via dark magic just for the event!) to PORN to lyrics to icons to FANSITES and COMMUNITIES and ... and ... *head explodes* OMG you people are so sick. I love you all so much. I can't even find highlights. Just ... just go read the whole thing. And die laughing.

Because it inspired circe_tigana to call me up on the telephone so we could spend a good fifteen minutes laughing hysterically together over it. Dude, Eminem in a musical adaptation of Jane Eyre. What's NOT to love? :)
